Stayed at this hotel with my husband and daughter for two days. Management and housekeeping could not have been friendlier!

Continental breakfast consisted of passes to a nearby McDonald's for free Big Breakfasts and a small drink on our first morning...which was fine with us! Was kind of disappointed that they ran out of (or misplaced) the breakfast passes for the second day (manager on duty wrote out & signed breakfast passes for us on a Howard Johnson's notepad, but we just ended up going elsewhere for our breakfast...we figured that McDonald's would probably find those makeshift breakfast passes a little shady).

Beds were comfy and clean; room was clean overall.

The hotel isn't in the best area...the second we arrived, we were approached by a homeless guy for money. The same homeless guy hung out in the parking lot all night and was there the next day.

Definitely not the hotel's fault, however. Just an f.y.i. on the area. We felt safe because we had our gun in the room with us =)

I just stayed at this hotel and it appears they are trying to clean things up. I was told by the desk staff that a new managment company had taken over and things were on the up swing. The desk staff were friendly and helpfull, the rooms were clean and the staff went out of their way to help when they could. I was told they would be updating the rooms soon. I will be staying at this hotel again

Stayed at the Columbus Howard Johnson during my brother-in-law's graduation from basic in Fort Benning with my in-laws. Our rooms were filthy, sheets contained small, curly hairs that did not belong to us, blankets on beds had marinara sauce (or other red substance), rooms smelled awful, service was poor, breakfast was complimentary but low quality with few healthy choices, found a roach outside one of the rooms (never saw one inside, but tried not to look). Would NEVER stay here again and would not recommend to anyone.

We try to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Rooms are inspected by staff and the Health Department on a regular basis. If such conditions exited and it was brought to the attention of the Front Desk or Manqagement we would have offered another room or corrected the situation. We have hundreds of guests that return to us on a regular basis and this would not be if the conditions described were the norm. I am however very upset that this guest was unhappy and wish I could make ammends to them.

The room was clean, the front desk staff was polite and helpful, the fridge in the room was on and cold which was actually a surprise, however the bar does not open until 5. When we went to the restaurant we were told that there were no steaks left and no rice. They had been busy this week. Approximately 70 % of the menu relies heavily on those two items. Are you kidding me?

This weekend was an unexpectedly busy weekend in the restaurant. We did run out of steaks but there are several other selections available on the menu. Rice was available but there was a 20 minute wait for it to be cooked. I am so sorry that we disappointed this guest.

The walls in the first room they gave us were covered with MOLD and had an unbearable odor. The second room was a tad bit better, but still had a funky odor in it, the walls and carpet were dirty and you can hear everything that was going on outside the room. The towels are dirty and the bed was very hard. Don't let that free breakfast fool you coz you're better off buying your own food elsewhere. The safest thing to eat at the "buffet" were the apples (but that's still questionable). The person supposedly serving the food looked like she did not want to be there and had an expression on her face that she couldn't believe that food like this was being served for human consumption. Needless to say, we ended up checking out of that place and checking in to a better hotel (unfortunately, they got me for $80 for 1 night-totally not worth it)

We try very hard to maintain a high standard of cleanliness. If we failed in this case we would have been more than happy to change rooms and make it up to the guest but this is the first we have heard of this guests unhappniness. We are also very proud of our counrty breakfast buffet. It features fresh scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, breakfast potatoes, creamy grits, juice, ceral, fresh fruit, breakfast breads and coffee tea or milk. Hundreds of guests compliment us on the selection and quality I am sorry this guest was disappointed.
