Owner description: The National Infantry Museum emphasizes the values that define the Infantryman, as well as the nation he protects: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. It preserves and displays one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, but it is a museum of people, not things. As a visitor, you will meet the Infantryman face to face and join him on his journey. You will come to understand why an Infantryman does what he does, why he puts himself in harm’s way in defense of an idea and you will leave transformed, just as the Infantry transforms the man into the Soldier. The 190,000-square-foot museum opened in June 2009 on a 200-acre tract of hardwoods and pines just outside the gates of the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence.

As I was visiting Fort Benning and Columbus for a Turning Blue and Graduation ceremony, we spent time in this Museum. My family and I went there two days in a row and slowly walked through the history of the Infantry and soldiers. I like the way the museum is laid out and has places to stop and absorb the history surrounding you.

The grounds are also beautiful as this is where the graduation ceremony was held.

There is no charge per se for entry to the museum, but they do ask for a donation.

Wish we had more time to spend there. Very nicely done. A tribute to all those past and presently in the infantry. Give yourself at least 2 hrs. to go through. Free admission, bit $5 donation encouraged.

Its great everyone in america should visit this museum one time. It is the story of america from a military point of view. From the revolutionary War to present. It has a rich history of all Medal of Honor winners and the price they paid. I hope they expand this museum to bring in tanks and artillary peices on the grounds outside so the kids could climb in them and get the real feel of what it was like.

This is a very intensive Infantry Museum. Discover the history of the Infantry thru the years of our Nation. IMAX theatre, simulations, exhibits, uniforms, weapons...you name it, it's there for all to see. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

An outstanding experience! Extremely well done and so realistic. It makes you proud that you served god country and gives admiration for those now serving. It brought back so many memories. We just did not allow enough time and will certainly return in the near future. It makes you proud to be an American and humble that so many sac roved their lives to protect our freedom. Our infantry is coined to combat Tyranny from outside forces or within and to protect our Constitutional Rights
