Owner description: The National Infantry Museum emphasizes the values that define the Infantryman, as well as the nation he protects: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. It preserves and displays one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, but it is a museum of people, not things. As a visitor, you will meet the Infantryman face to face and join him on his journey. You will come to understand why an Infantryman does what he does, why he puts himself in harm’s way in defense of an idea and you will leave transformed, just as the Infantry transforms the man into the Soldier. The 190,000-square-foot museum opened in June 2009 on a 200-acre tract of hardwoods and pines just outside the gates of the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence.

Very well done museum with lots of history. Outside of the Fort Benning gate, so everyone can visit.

Would like to come back and see the entire Museum. What we did see was VERY IMPRESSIVE. Be prepared to spend at least 3 or 4 hours to see the whole museum.

this was so cool to see. I like the fact that they have the interactive games. This was a well put togather museum. my son even loved to look at the stuff. they ask for a donation to enter and it is well worth the price. I have been to a few military museums and this one is by far the best.

They have done a fabulous job with this museum. Tons of artifacts, displays and interactive content all organized in an intuitive way. Definitely worth a visit!

Fee below is a "recommended donation" of $5. There are additional charges for some of the optional interactive things, like target practice. We spent about 2-3 hours there but didn't have time to do the whole upper level, mostly because I read almost everything in the displays, which slows you down. It would be easy to spent a half-day there if you are a history buff.

This museum is must see! The displays and memorabilia are authentic and very lifelike. It's like taking a walk through history. Even my 9 year old was in awe of all of the history displayed. The folks who work there were knowledgable and helpful too. We spent a few hours at the museum and will most likely return die to the fact we didn't get to see everything.
