“what a great piece of history”

National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center

Attraction details
Owner description: The National Infantry Museum emphasizes the values that define the Infantryman, as well as the nation he protects: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. It preserves and displays one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, but it is a museum of people, not things. As a visitor, you will meet the Infantryman face to face and join him on his journey. You will come to understand why an Infantryman does what he does, why he puts himself in harm’s way in defense of an idea and you will leave transformed, just as the Infantry transforms the man into the Soldier. The 190,000-square-foot museum opened in June 2009 on a 200-acre tract of hardwoods and pines just outside the gates of the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence.

Was glad to share this visit with my son that just graduated from the Army.I would recommend this with anyone visiting the Columbus area! They also held the graduation here out on the field!

“Absolutely amazing.”

You will need to take your time and possibly take a couple of days to take in everything the National Infantry Museum has to offer. What a wonderful experience we had.

“Excellent museum”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

I was very impressed with this museum. The layout was excellent. It was quite spacious. The exhibits were very lifelike and emotional at times. There was an obvious respect for the infantry men and their sacrifices. We were able to move at our own pace. Cannot wait until the final two exhibits are completed. Will make the 14 hour drive just to see it.

My husband and I are ex-Military and our son was graduating from Basic Training at Ft.Benning. So all the artifacts and information provided and the amazing walk-thru scenes are must-sees.
