We were fortunate to see a recent production of the musical "Damn Yankees" at this theatre. We loved visiting this beautiful historic gem in downtown Columbus. The 1871 Springer Opera House is the State Theatre of Georgia, and contains wonderful architectural details and private "boxes" on the three tiers near the stage. The ticket prices are very reasonable, and the show was fantastic. The lobby and hallways feature the photos of some of the famous names who have performed here ( Hal Holbrook, Burt Reynolds ect.). At intermission, be sure to get your refreshments in the "Saloon". This is a great choice for an evening out.
