Had the great idea to detour to Georgia during a long road trip to show the kids the Georgia Aquarium. Great idea except...forgot it was Spring Break and traveling with a big dog presented a challenge. All of the dog friendly hotels either were booked or charged ridiculous non refundable fees. Traveling with a dog, 3 and 5 year old and cranky husband, we almost decided to just throw in the towel and keep on down the road through the night. All available hotels were either in (very) questionable parts of town or reviews (on Tripadvisor...thank you very much) steered us clear. As a last ditch effort, we checked out this further off and lesser known hotel and wow...what a surprise. The pet rate was reasonable, the neighborhood was safe (and charming) and the rooms were above three star in my opinion for a two star hotel price!

The room was a decent size and very well appointed. The bed, as stated time and time again here IS, in fact, ridiculously comfortable and luxe. So much so that you do not mind the occasional train or airplane going by. It adds to the charm...if you will. The Aveda products are a huge plus and our room had a mural that replicated an old (still in business) laundr-o-mat in the area (Yes Hotel Indigo..we made the connection) and we thought that was very cool, charming and chic. The coffee in the room was a nice touch as well as the super luxe bedding.

However...there were several stray hairs in the shower...I have a two hair limit and that was exceeded so a word to the hotel management about being meticulous in the shower! Other than that, the hotel is just lovely and chic and trendy.

The restaurant is not terribly family friendly (kids are not offered coloring sheets and crayons, etc at breakfast) and it is, what some would consider, wildly expensive for any breakfast but it forced us to seek out a very clean, friendly and good IHOP (and I NEVER eat at IHOP) just five minutes away that my kids really enjoyed. Indigo does have TVs scattered about the eating area and I suppose you could ask them to put on cartoons in the morning?

But the lounge and restaurant areas DO have their merit. I would not hesitate for a minute to meet girlfriends here for drinks and dinner....and I usually dine with friends on South Beach ...this is comparable to that (minus the ocean and $20 martinis). This lounge/restaurant would be a great date night for someone too or just a place for an upscale business meeting. The furnishings and decor and ambiance are well worth trip even though for us, the service was terrible. TERRIBLE. Three waitresses running every which way for a glass of water or in search of a fork and napkin. I know Hotel Indigo will work on that and bring in some experience talent. Were I not in a rush, I would not have minded. And if you go for breakfast, try their oatmeal, it will change the way you think about oatmeal. :)

I walked my dog in the area at all hours and had no concern for safety...the area around is quite charming. A far leap from your average "hotel airport." Charm. Charm. Charm. One last parting issue for Hotel Indigo, please find a way to keep the doors from slamming as people come and go into their rooms. This is not a fun noise at any hour and not everyone remembers to "catch" the door as it closes. I am sure there is a 5 cent part out there somewhere that can relieve this issue.

Otherwise, well done. Thank you for being more than a tired and aggravated family expected during a three day stay-over. We would not hesitate for a moment to return.

I stayed at the Hotel Indigo College Park Atlanta Airport April 6-8th. It's located about 5 mins from the airport, and the hotel provides a shuttle... Which is very clean, comfortable, and convenient. At first glance, there doesn't appear to be much around the hotel. But if you walk a block north, you'll be on Main st, where you'll find some cute shops and restaurants. Also, its very close to the Marta station, should you like to visit other areas of the city. The system is very easy to use, and will make stops at every major area of the city. There is a restaurant in the hotel, and menu has many choices. I found the prices to be reasonable for a hotel restaurant, and the food was good(I ordered a club sandwich at the waiter's suggestion). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, and very nicely appointed. They offer sizable bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a chic/modern decor. Over all, I found this property to be a very good value for the price I paid, and I'd definitely stay there again.

Hands down the loudest hotel in which I've ever spent a night!! Trains, planes, birds - non-stop, all night long.

This hotel is a bit of smoke and mirrors going on. It looks great from afar, but up close you see the wrinkles. The finishings are really poorly done - sloppily installed carpet and floors - sometimes extending over the trim. The trim doesn't quite match up in the elevator. Little details that reveal much about a place.

The lobby and rooms look great. Modern, clean, bright. The man that checked us in was helpful and pleasant. On the way out we had to beg for attention from the clerk who was in the middle of a personal conversation with a friend.

The rooms are roomy, with a new flat screen and Direct TV in every room. Keurig coffee machines too. Aveda products in the bathroom. Executive showers. All very nice. The bed was very comfortable too, and the gym was great.

I think they may have installed cheap windows in this place, because it's as loud outside as it is in. It likely didn't help that we were on the top floor, so would have no sound barrier above us in the form of another room.

Trays do sit in the halls for hours too - 12 - 16 hours that we noticed.

This place needs better trained staff and new windows!

Room Tip: Ask for a lower floor and maybe a room facing the street (not the airport). This might help with pl...

What a fantastic find this hotel is. It's tucked away out of the "hotel strip" and stands by itself just behind the new FAA headquarters in College Park. I agree with all the other's comments about the contemporary decor and great ambiance - you feel very special from the first steps into the lobby. My room was one of the nicest hotel rooms I've had in the last 5 years including a fantastic bathroom & shower with Aveda products. The bar & restaurant were awesome including a great breakfast buffet with many upgrades from standard hotel breakfast bar items.

Location is perfect for anyone using MARTA to get downtown or to sports stadiums - the station is literally 20 steps outside the front door an easy walk on a nice landscaped sidwalk. Yes there is a traintrack close by and you will hear the train. I was in a room that was the closest to the tracks and I slept like a baby because the train only goes by during the day. Never at night when you are sleeping, so who cares??!!

If you are lucky enough to book this property I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I had an absolutely superlative time here start to finish. Thanks to the very helpful staff from all the Michigan Wolverines who were staying here for Final Four weekend - we had a blast!

We booked a fantastic room at the Indigo, huge and clean and the bathroom was also very nice. I was scared about american hotels (it was my first time in the USA) but I had a real good experience. The bed was big and comfortable and the receptionist provided us with free drinking water. The airport shuttle was perfectly on time, and the driver even dropped us at the International terminal, which was not the plan.
Funny story at the reception: we got told our reservation got changed and didn't include breakfast anymore (?) but he immediately said we can have free breakfast and wrote it down on a small paper for us. Breakfast which was also perfect (I had the best yogurt with granola of my whole holiday).
The only downside is the noise, of course you can hear the planes coming and going - I am not sure what can be done for insulating the rooms, but after all we were exactly passing by for 1 night between flights, so it was definitely OK.

My only complaint is how the ample sized room was designed. It is designed for one business traveler. Bag stand only for one person and not another convenient shelf, counter etc for a second bag. The bath was also tightly arranged that if one person used the water closet there was no space for someone else to use the sink without bumping knees into legs. There was enough counter space to do it differently.

Aloft Hotels is an example of much better use of the space and they make it easier for two people to have a comfortable stay and, for business travelers, a productive experience.

One other note, though close to the Airport there was practically no plane noise...but there was a train whistle.
