“Great for 1 night stay if you are flying in/out of ATL”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

My family of 5 stayed here from 6/26 to 6/29. We selected this hotel because it was the only Marriott property in the Atlanta area where we could use our points for free stays. This hotel isn’t the greatest if you are with a family and are traveling for pleasure and want to sightsee around the Atlanta area.
PROS/CONS:
Pros: close to ATL airport & tram system. This is a great hotel if you are a business traveler just needing a place for the night in close proximity to the airport. Hotel is clean, nice breakfast in the morning, hotel staff friendly & accommodating.
Cons: If you are staying in Atlanta for pleasure, there is not much located near this hotel. We had to drive a minimum of 20 minutes at least for activities. Plus, since it is an airport hotel there is nothing really around convenient for eats or shopping. There is the Marriott property across the street that has a good restaurant, but that is your only option and it is kind of expensive. My husband had to drive a few exits down the freeway to access a grocery store, and given you are near the airport, the neighborhoods in close proximity are somewhat sketchy. Although hotel seems relatively new, the room layout was kind of strange – when I think of a suite, I think of having 2 separate rooms. This was 1 room, and the bathroom was separated from the shower/sink area, which was a little inconvenient (in my opinion.)
Overall, I give 4 stars - can’t say anything bad about the actual property, it was clean and new, staff was nice and housekeeping was helpful (despite having a 7am knock on the door for a towel delivery that was actually for the room next door!) But, stay somewhere else if you are a tourist.

Checked in June 7 for one night. LOVED the room!!!! Was very impressed. Convenient kitchenette and free AirTran ride into the airport. Couldn't hear airplanes from the room. We were told at check in about the breakfast to go bags for our flight in the morning since we would be leaving before the free breakfast in the morning was served. Only complaint was the night auditor was still there in the morning and said they were all out of breakfasts to go but I could see them in a basket under the desk because we were shown them when we checked in......When I pointed them out she was like "oh" and handed them to us and didn't really say anything or apologize. Reason for a 4 instead of a 5. It was my last impression before leaving. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend this property!

The SpringHill is super easy to get to - follow the signs to the AirTrain to the Gateway Hotels. This property is a typical SpringHill, which is comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast is just fine - nothing special. If you are a Marriott Elite member, you may be granted concierge access at the Marriott across the street if you want to grab some snacks and a drink.

This is a very nice Springhill Suites. Well maintained and well managed. Employees/staff are very friendly, especially the front desk. Location is perfect if you are visiting the airport. Also, if you have a car, take a quick drive up 29 to College Park for some good eats. The rooms are typical Springhill Suites style, which means its one large space with a divider (not separate rooms). You will not be disappointed.

BIG room for the money. Very well decorated and designed. I loved the separate WC and shower...was handy when trying to get 4 girls ready for flights!

Check-in was slow. Had to wait at the front desk for 10 min before someone appeared (was around 10pm at night...maybe they were snoozing??).

Good breakfast spread. Comfy beds.

Parking is $12/night. Can also take the tram to the airport for free 24/hrs day.

Will consider staying here again when on layover in ATL.

I stayed here in between a business and a personal trip with 4 friends. The hotel is very clean, close to the airport you just have to take the train like you are going to rental car pick up and it is the first stop. It is also right across from a full service Marriott that has a restuarant so we didn't have to drive anywhere to go eat. That was great for us since we had a very early flight. I would definetly stay here again on trips through Atlanta if I needed to be close to the airport. Clean hotel as well with a nice breakfast included in the price of the room. It does cost $10 to park and they won't let you leave your car there you have to move it to an airport parking area, the desk attendance said they stopped doing that a few months ago, that's the only thing I didn't like.

Green Features: They are a "green" hotel so you have to stick your room key in a slot by the door to keep the lights running. I haven't run into that before, it was interesting.
