My kids are 14 & 15 and it is difficult to find something the whole family would enjoy but this was it. Animals are clearly cared for and loved. Will make this trip again. Small zoo is intimate and interactive. Far better then any of the large zoos I have visited!

Worth the Drive! The kids will love the interaction with the animals! The petting zoo is the main part of the zoo- but make SURE to spend the extra $ & take the Nature Walk! Also buy some Feed- (Cheap)-to have all of the animals eating out of your hand! On the Nature Walk-too many exotic animals to mention on that- it was really HALF of the zoo! At the end of that tour- they stop, everyone sits under a pavillion and you get some "hands on time" with some of the smaller more exotic animals. I would NOT recommend to pay extra for the Camel hayride. It was ok- but it should be INCLUDED in the main entry price. Not much to see on that except Camels and cows, & yaks. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone with small children, or even teens or family that really enjoy zoos, petting zoos or animals in general. I went with my adult daughter who LOVES animals & afterwards we went down to Dahlonega and ate a late lunch and did some shopping there. We had a great day!

First trip was awesome, and we were able to go in and pet many of the animals. Second trip was overly crowded and difficult to enjoy. The animals are precious, but it would be nice to have more signs or employees around to share information with you. Overall we enjoyed our visits.

It is worth the effort to visit the North Georgia Zoo. The animals look so happy and it is wonderful to be able to touch/pet so many of them. By all means, take the nature walk. We are still talking about 'making' the wolf howl. And who knew there was a beaver afraid of water?!? Our guide, Dani, was extremely knowledgeable and made the entire experience enjoyable and fun. The kids were thrilled, the adults had a blast, and we all left must more informed that we came. The highlights include petting a hedgehog and a chinchilla!

The animals look happy and well-fed. The $7 petting zoo is worth the trip. You get to see llamas, goats, lambs, cows, ducks and pigs. But if you want to see the exotic animals, be prepared to pay. We took the wildlife tour which was totally worth it. The cost for two people to go to the petting zoo, wildlife tour and for a bucket of feed was $48. I wish we'd spent the extra money for the camel encounter as well. We learned a lot and had fun. Definitely look forward to returning.
