We took our 15 year old daughter and a friend for a 4 day/3 night stay. Our first 2 nights were in Tanglewood Cabin and the last night was upper floor of Hickory Hall. The pictures are accurate. This is just like stepping back in time, the girls enjoyed themselves beyond belief. Any where we went they could not wait to get back to the rope swing. The cabins are older but they are clean and functional. If you want brand new---go somewhere else, but if you want to relax, unwind and enjoy technology free family time---go! They have everything for great adventure: canoes available for your use, fishing dock, suspension bridge, swimming area and rope swing (all at no extra charge). The property is great for bike riding. Each area has a place for a nightly fire (again wood provided). We did not experience any problems. Both of the girls want to go back--and coming from two teens that speaks volumes! Great Value!

Room Tip: No swimming pool but the lake is AWESOME! Tanglewood cabin is a little more secluded from the mai...

Quiet, peaceful, calm - this is a beautiful setting. The spring-fed lake is gorgeous, nestled there against the hillside.

The price was awesome. We had a large group and the cost was very reasonable. If budget is an issue, this is a sweet deal.

We don't mind bugs, spiders, snakes, raccoons, deer - that's all good. All this was good... but the musty odor of mold and mildew in our cabin just about ran us off.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Lullwater if you have mold allergies.

I don't know who the crazy person is in the previous review, but anyone who stays in the woods knows there are bugs. We go EVERY year as soon as its warm enough to swim. If you stay in a cabin it is cleaned out and taken care of. If you drive to the top of Wilderness Mountian ( hince the name) it is more closely related to camping outside. You are in a building but it has screens but no windows. There are 2 building that each have bunk around the walls of the rooms with matresses and they have plugs ins, a picnic table, and a celieing fan. You have a cookout area outside with grills and a fridge. But you are secluded from the rest of the camp. It really is the most beautiful place. Like I said we come and stay a week every year and we only live about 25 min away. Its the only time that my husband and his two brothers plus their wives and ALL our children can be found in the same place for that long a time. The staff is amazing, the sceneray is beautiful, the price is Great, and you'll come back every year. We do!!! : )

Hidden hollow....hidden away from the civilization into the wilderness.......awsome place. A perfect get away for any natue lover...its got everything to take you back a complete era. Its got a wooden hut (promises to be like a hut in the jungle), lake to swim or do boating/fishing in, waterwheel and animals (pets off course) being their absolute self. The people there let you be and enjoy the nature around with not much interference as long as it does not disturb the nature.
The Huts got everything-heat system, books to read, utnesils, spic and span bathrooms........and above all, this comes at quite a reasonable price. The time spent there gave a feeling of living life like a Little Red Riding Hood who lives in a Hut with chimney that lets out smoke-absolute fantasy.
The only issue is the food availability. Need to pack quite a lot coz nothing much was available around.

I stayed here with a family and felt it would be great for a group camp. When booking the camp back in February everything thing went smoothly, then the months before camp it was hard to get in contact with the innkeepers to ask them questions. The innkeepers also seemed to get irritated with the amount of questions that our group was asking. When we arrived to the camp we found the cabins were not cleaned out, there were scorpions and wasp nest. When appoaching the innkeepers they responded by saying we were in the wilderness. Also the road suppose to be graveled before we came and was not. Through out the week we had backups in the bathroom, and the water heater broke. We complained to the inkeeper and their response was, their handyman was out of town and we would just have to deal with it. We rented the music hall while we were there one night, which was very pricey for what you get and the kitchen was not fully functioning. The lake was great and the group loved the area, but after having no hot water, 10 plus scorpions, wasps, and non working facilities it made our stay very unpleasant. We were not refunded any, and the problems were not taken care of. I would not recommend this place to a group, the innkeepers do not keep their amenties that are available working, and do not work with their customers.

How we loved the Hidden Hollow.
If you are looking for luxury don't come here. It has your basic needs and is in the most beautiful setting.
There were four women, we each got our own "space". It had a small kitchen, 1 1/2 baths and a woodburning stove.
The little added touches is what made it so charming, A quilt here and there or a little wooden doll. It was just cozy, quiet, clean and most of all welcoming.
Would definitly stay there again.
