The private hot tub on the porch really does seal the deal for me, but it's just one of the great touches at the Overlook Inn that keeps me coming back. This year I celebrated a second Valentine's Day weekend there, first year we were in the Grand Gahuti and this year we stayed in the Moon Eye. Both rooms were great: spacious, very clean, comfy bed/pillows, private, and have a hot tub on their private porches. Even in below freezing weather, it's so much fun to get in the hot tub at night!

Breakfast is always tasty and the dinner basket is great - bottle of wine, dessert for later, and you can eat in front of the fireplace in your room or the fireplace in the common room - lots of cozy places to hang out, plus books and board games everywhere.

The staff and owners are super friendly and nice to be around, and there's an extensive state park 2 miles down the road with lakes, hiking and bike trails. But if you wanted to hang out at the Inn all day, the view and grounds there are quite nice as well - definitely no need to leave at all once you're there! Maybe just grab some bottles of water and some snack on the way in and you're set.

Also - afternoon tea and evening wine service is like the icing on the cake! Just the right distance from the city, the Overlook Inn has everything you're looking for in a cozy B&B that helps you get out of your ordinary routine. I think next year we'll bring some friends and try one of the amazing looking Wilderness View cabins (same owners) just down the road!

Room Tip: The Moon Eye is a little cheaper than the Grand Gahuti because it's only a little smaller. The l...

My husband badly needed a getaway from the stress of global travel and our night at the Overlook was just the prescription - our hosts, Deborah and Greg, were delightful - their attention to us was perfect - we were pampered for sure! (oh, the eggs Benedict!) but they were respectful of our wanting to "get away from it all" and were attentive but not intrusive. Our dinner by the fire was delicious, our room beautiful (the Moon Eye), and the setting in the mountains complete with a perfect sunset and an outdoor fire under the stars. What a lovely, lovely well-done bed and breakfast!

my wife and just returned from a weekend getaway to the Overlook Inn. What a wonderful, relaxing weekend getaway. We arrived on Friday evening had had the "fireside dinner" of a herbed chicken breast and smoked trout and wine. I highly recommend this dinner, cause you are about 12 miles from Chatsworth and 17 miles from Ellijay, neither with a great restaurant, that I know. After a very sound and peaceful sleep, we awoke to a wonderful breakfast, eggs Benedict that truly rivaled anything in New Orleans. During the day, we elected to sit in the large main room reading and overlooking the wonderful view.....no phone to interrupt nor TV to entertain...just nature, a book, hot teas and snacks. Later that afternoon brought wine and cheese with wonderful desserts (especially Debra's Peanut Butter cake) and her Key Lime pie.

This was each day....the service in unbelievable, breakfast to die for and desserts, desserts and more desserts.

The onlyy short coming we had, the ONLY one, is not having a menu for the evening. We did however, go with the "fireside menu" on Saturday as well. Just did not want to travel down the mountain at night.

Other than that, if you want to getaway from it all and be surrounded by wonderful innkeepers and quest, this is the place to go....STRESS FREE!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Moon Eye room which had a hot tub on a private back porch. the size bed was very c...

Our stay at The Overlook Inn was incredible! The Inn is absolutely beautiful and the scenery is magnificent!
Staff was very nice, personable and always at our service, the breakfast at the Inn was great-the scenery while eating breakfast was to die for and the food was delicious. We could not have asked for a more perfect get away-very peaceful relaxing and we were made to feel right at home-without the chaos! I would highly recommend the Overlook Inn if you
are looking for a weekend getaway or week long vacation-it is a great place to stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but only two have out door hot tubs-Pick the Grand Gahutti or Mooneye.

This B&B is absolutely the BEST. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there and took a much needed mini vacation. First night there we had the fireside dinner, Lemon Chicken with white wine - we ate in the dining room to a stunning mountain view. Next day was our anniversary and we had the Romance Package delivered during the day while we were out: Chocolate covered strawberries, Champagne, hot tub bubbles, massage oil and scented candle was soooo romantic to come "home" to after a long day in Ellijay. Now, breakfast every morning was totally delightful: Monday was very delish and hearty fresh veggie omlets with fruit and fresh squeezed OJ; Tuesday was Eggs Benedict and Wednesday was French toast and homemade blue berry muffins. What more can I say???? This is an experience you really MUST have.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Grand Guhutti and it has the best view of all the rooms and I think it is the most...

My husband and I stayed at the Overlook Inn for a quiet get away this past weekend. The rooms are just as they are presented on line(photos). The innkeeper Allie was very responsive to our needs. The breakfasts were delicious as well as all the other "treats" made available during the day and evening. The porch was a nice respite, the pubilc rooms are great for viewing the mountains/leaves. The room and porch gave only a view of the highway. I do believe the price is too high for the quailty of the room even though the service as mentioned was outstanding.

We stopped by after a long weekend in Robbinsville, NC to scout out a possible destination for our next trip. The attendant in the shop gave us the impression she couldn't be bothered. We were not permitted to see more than walking around the grounds. Worst of all, our daughter was not allowed to use the restroom...and we had even made a couple of purchases in the store. I can only assume that as they are closer to Atlanta, they don't need our business. We'll never be back.
