It's a western museum and yes there's a lot of western art - cowboys, settlers, Native Americans, and civil war. There's also so much more. There's a presidential room and modern art room. the modern art is once again western but full of fun surprises. The cost is pretty low and well worth the visit. I've gone twice both during special exhibits. The last time was for the Saturday Evening post and previous for the Ansel Adams exhibit. Both were wonderful. Everything is well maintained.

We LOVED this museum - it has wonderful paintings, a very creative child's area, Western history and facts, lots of folklore, hands-on activites, and a hall of US Presidents.

There are annual and seasonal events at this museum - rodeo type things, and lots of family-oriented things. Kids loved it. Adults loved it. Please try to go - it is a lot of fun.

We visited the Booth on a weekday with another couple and found the displays very enjoyable. Not sure how kids would react, but there are some interesting displays, like an old western stagecoach and some kid-friendly activities offered. The sculptures and paintings were top notch, with lots of interesting details to observe and discuss. We combined our trip there with a chance to take our friends to eat lunch at the Appalachian Grill, just a block away. It was a very enjoyable day. Cartersville still retains a lot of it's small downtown charm, despite all the growth around it.

This museum located in a small town off the beaten path should actually be a destination point for the art lover. Walking in to the museum you instantly forget where you are, as this could be in any major city. The museum is dedicated to the civil war era as well as to the Cowboy and Indian themes. The works of art are even astounding to someone with little art knowledge. In addition to the early western displays the Booth has a room dedicated to the Presidents. There is an original note from every president along with their portrait as well as information about the president. I was most impressed by the variety of art styles and how detailed some of the paintings were. Massive works of art with dozens of soldiers portrayed, each with slightly different expressions, attire and purpose. Definitely a great museum - even more impressive than those one would find in larger cities. Not only a great place for adults but they have a nice kids area on the lower level. Either way is it hard not to smile when the see a real stage coach! Would be a great stop over for those traveling north to south, take a break from driving. Certainly worth the trip!
