“A local gem!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Calhoun is not a mecca of great places to eat, but this one is pretty dang awesome! I haven't had their soups or salads, but so far every sandwich I've had has been top notch. Their Reuben, both corned beef and turkey, is probably the best I've ever had. And the German chocolate cake was so good. The desert case is always filled with beautiful deserts.

“So much more than a sandwich”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

New area bistro that only serves sandwiches, soup, salads and desserts. But they are worth stopping for. They put lots of Boar's Head meats in their sandwiches which have interesting combination of meats and cheese. It is very hard to pick a usual favorite or try something different. I have never been disappointed. Sandwich comes on a variety of bread choices, with usually lettuce and tomato, a side of chips and a pickle spear. The table has a basket of individual packets of yellow and spicey mustards, mayo and horseradish sauce-very yummy. There is a choice of 2 homemade soups and many choices of salad combos. A friend ordered a chef salad that was so big he had to take most of it home.
The desserts alone are worth the trip. So far I have sampled the cocoanut creme and the peanut butter pie. Both worth every calorie consumed! You just want to eat it slowly and let all the flavors swim in your mouth!!
The resturant is very clean and bright. Staff seems eagar to please and keeps your drink glasses full. No problem in getting to go boxes.
They close from 3PM on Friday until 11:00(?) on Sunday. Sure wish they would consider Sat. evening service but everyone has to have some time off.

“Great soups and desserts!”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

We love their cheese soups, beer cheese and cheesy brat soups. The desserts are a hit. The meats are Boars head brand meats, so good quality. I had the rueben, impressed with the corned beef and kraut. They make their own kraut and is quite delicious. My husband ordered a cuban, sadly very skimpy on the meat on that sandwich. I'm not a fan of their tater salad, lots of onions and I hate onions. Sandwiches come with chips and a pickle spear. Limited on combos like the other review said. We don't eat potato chips, just wished the menu had more combos or options to the sides. But we do come desserts!

“Excellent soups”

Homemade soups are excellent. Sandwiches are very good. Need more combo options, though.
