“Lake Lanier, How Relaxing”

We had a really good time at Lake Lanier Islands and Resort. We went to the water park and stayed mostly in the wave pool. Everyone there seem to really enjoy that! The waves can knock you over in an instant. We rode on the water rides which are super fast. It was fun, but I don't think I'll get on them again. Too fast for me! The breakfast was pretty tasty too! We are planning to return next year. Next year we will rent a boat and go horseback riding.

“Nice day out for family with younger kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2011

We have a 6 and 9 year old. We visited on the last Sunday of the season and the park was pretty quiet. Longest wait for a ride was about 20 minutes and that was unusual. For the most part the rides were very tame. No gut churners here. The wave pool was pretty unexciting too. I think teenagers would find it a bit boring in comparison to other water parks. Other than one lifeguard manning a ride who was terrific with the kids most of the staff acted as though they'd rather be anywhere else but there. I think for most of them it was their last day and it showed. The wait for pizza was looong. They brought my entree out 30 minutes before delivering the pizza to the table. Overall however we had a really good day. It was perfect for younger kids. The restrooms and shower areas were very clean. It seemed very expensive but when you calculate we were there for about 9 hours it doesn't seem so horrifying. Apparently you can get coupons to it from some of the grocery stores. Not being local we didn't know that until we got there.

“worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2011

Nice water park. (much better than White Water)
It's spread out - which can be good or bad. Seems clean. We went on a Thur and not too crowded in the park, just a lack of beach chairs available. I would not go to this place on a weekend because I would guess it's way too crowded.

Also: They really need MORE people working in the restaurant - line to get a table is very long...too long for pizza. Plenty of empy tables, just no servers.

“Marginal Water Park with Opportunity"”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2011

I have two children, 6yr old boy & 2yr old girl. We have been going to the water park for the past couple of years - and we each have a season's pass (which is the best value if you plan to go 2 or more times).

Positives: The kids always enjoy themselves. They have plenty of "kid-friendly" slides and play areas. Giannis is pretty good park food and priced fairly. The bathrooms look great and are clean.

Areas that need improvement: Lifeguards - their attitudes are atrocious. Every visit we leave the park wondering why the leadership is oblivious to this. I get it - they are teenagers - however, we recently have visited Great Wolf Lodge and the staff there is friendly and competent.

Around July 4th, the park had a young man drown while riding the "fun dunker". My wife was concerned about going to the park later that week. I felt that it would be a good time to go because the lifeguards would be at the "top of their game". NOPE - still apathetic attitudes! One guard was working the fun dunker and was texting on their phone.

The fun dunker is also in a state of needed repairs. There are numerous squirt guns and other items that do not work. There is even a "blue gas can" on the 3rd deck that is rusted with a very sharp edge that will eventually cut someone (if that hasn't already happened). The place needs a significant paint job.

The kiddie area needs some attention too.

Look - I could spend a lot of time making a "To Do List" for the General Manager to work on - but - we are regular customers and the kids do have a lot of fun.

So - please go and have fun, but watch your kids and be responsible for your own safety.

“Nice, family atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2010

Clean, enjoyable - you can take a beach bag and actually leave it unattended. A family atmosphere - nothing like Six Flags. Mostly moms, dads and kids, the teens that are there are appropriate in their conduct. For a family looking for some water park fun - this is the place.
