This is one of the best run B&Bs my wife and I have ever tried. The hosts are friendly, helpful, and not intrusive. They have thought of every detail, and then some. The place is attractive, spotlessly clean, and filled with thoughtful extras. Snacks and drinks are available for no charge in the common area. Breakfasts were fantastic. There is an extremely nice garden area with a spectacular view; the four of us (we came with another couple) sat there with drinks and conversation during sunset, and loved it. The room itself was comfortable and delightful.
The only reasons for not giving 5 stars are: 1) thin walls and 2) location. On our second night a guest in the adjoining room was a snorer, and that could easily be heard in our room. There is a white noise machine in the room (which helped) and earplugs are available, but it was still an inconvenience. As for the location, there is a winding one-lane road to get to the lodge; luckily, there were no cars coming in the other direction during our stay, but that could have been a big problem. The host said if that happened, you can pull over to the shoulder, but we did not see any way to do that. Also, because of the narrow road, there is really nowhere to walk. You have to drive somewhere else to hike or even take a leisurely walk after breakfast. Of course, this is the mountains, and for many people this would not seem like a problem. However, it would keep us from returning.
