Friendly staff, but not consistent. Varying degree of service depending on the day and the staff on duty. Weekends are probably the worse and you might find that whatever ordered in the cafe or the restaurant is significantly less that the same serving during weekdays. If you ask for wake up call be prepared to be woken anything from 1 hour before to 30 minutes after the requested time. Rely on your own alarm clock.

Traveling on business is not the place to stay. Everything you do you have to prepay, or carry cash with you. Even though you leave a deposit with your credit card at the desk, every where you go you have to pay, or leave a deposit at the desk. Not a convenient arrangement when traveling on business (I believe it is the only Hotel that does this)

The buffet dinner is very poor and with limited choice. Better try the ala carte or the grill. The place has a lot of Korean/Japanese groups staying for 2-3 days and food preferences are mainly to cater to them. Breakfast is good, but make sure that you go very early when a group is there, otherwise you might find a lot of things missing. After 7:30, when groups leave for their tours is the best time to go.

There is a shop in the place with a good selection of snacks (although pricey).

Rooms in the main building are Ok but as it is old there are not enough receptacles and the A/C units are in poor (but working) condition. Better choose the new building. Better in all respects.

I wouldn't recommend it for a business stay or a long stay (I had to stay there for 19 days) as it is not geared for business travelers. Better go to Holiday Inn down the road. Pity to say that but the scenery and the placing are very good, but everything else is not (with the exception of the genuine staff friendliness)

Spacious and clean room. May need to upgrade the bowl alley and Dino club area. Can include some game arcade and karaoke rooms. To ensure price are within reasonable range too such as 1000 to 2000 rupiah per arcade game. Overall, the family with kids orientation background is very good.

Firstly, be careful when you book this hotel, as there are 2 HARRIS in Batam. One is HARRIS hotel in Batam Centre, and the other one is HARRIS Resort Waterfront in Marina City.

This hotel is located quite remotely, It is about 30 mins drive from the city (i.e. Nagoya shopping mall). The location is next to beach, though you can't play and swim in the beach, but good enough just to sit and look.

When i checked in, the receptionist has taken note what i requested in my booking, such as having king bed, and extra bed, we got allocated a room in the new building. We got welcome drink with cold towel which is quite refreshing.

The hotel itself is very old and tired, we can see the sign of wear and tear. The swimming pool is good to see, but when you dive in, you can see that it is quite dirty.The massage in room is quite good, with very friendly and rejuvenating.

All in all, i would recommend for those who wants a simple (not fussy) getaway for 1 night only.
and btw, for those with young kids, there is free morning bicycle from 9-10am, that you can take advantage of.

The taxi is cheaper if you are traveling to town as family, as the shuttle seems to be exorbitantly priced at $10 per-person, with non-flexible timing.

Room tip: New building/wing, and face to swimming pool is the best.

I've problem trying to figure out the location and activities suitable for my daughter's 14th birthday celebration that is within my budget. Through much research, I've decided to have it at Harris Resort Waterfront, Batam, knowing that I will be taking a big risk and that my beloved daughter may be disappointed. However, my family really enjoyed themselves throughout the stay. Even so, the facilities need to improve, like the air-con in my room which was noisy, the racking machine in the bowling centre that kept on breaking down, and the bowling shoes which were pretty worn out. The staff, though, were very cheerful, polite and helpful. Words can't describe the hospitality given to the guest. The activities available were also family oriented. Overall, this resort is highly recommended.

Partner and I decided to spend a 3D2N short getaway at Harris Resort Batam Waterfront dring the March hols recently. It was our first time to this resort and true enough, the amount of time spend reading on past reviews has proven to be beneficial and true in its description to a large extent. Harris Resort's staffs were excellent in their service delivery from the point we checked in. We were greeted by Ms. Nana who never failed to address our queries on shuttle bus services and timings etc with her wonderful smile and hospitality.We were also being given a glass of orange juice and it really helps when the weather can get really humid. Getting a taxi at Sekupang Ferry Terminal was fast as there was a counter. What would really help in the future is for Harris Resort to provide shuttle service as the taxi fare was quoted at SGD12 (fairly reasonable but it would feel even better having to skip the process of going through the hassle of getting a cab). Room was excellent with the marina view and the soothing evening winds. We opted to get the 5th floor, so that really helped in terms of minimal noise level. Room was spacious with the balcony overlooking the beach and the toilets were clean. Room service did a great job in cleaning the room and Harris Resort provided extensive coverage of awesome movie channels. The slight problem we had was only in terms of the key card which failed because apparently we have been placing it close to the mobile phones all the time. H' Spa was fantastic with its staffs being friendly and excellent during our 1 hr Traditional Indonesian Massage which costs around SGD50. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the massage session at the rooftop spa area as it was under renovation and will possibly complete by next month. Nonetheless, the massage done in one of the Cabana rooms was good enough as it was relatively quiet and peaceful with both of us having our massage at the same time within the same room. Registering for a bus shuttle to Nagoya shopping mall was pretty straightforward which cost ard SGD10 per person and had this deposited from out deposit of SGD50 which we had to provide during the check-in. The journey took about 25-30 mins ad returning back to the resort was also very efficient with the mini bus already there to pick us up on time. For Muslim travellers, we highly suggest that you drop by the Nagoya Mall to stock up on some food/snacks to bring back and at the same time enjoy the meals there as the number of eateries at the resort is rather limited and quite costly. We couldn't enjoy the amazing pool but we promise to return again in September this year and hopefully get to enjoy the refurbished spa premise including the jacuzzi and pool. There's a small convenience store in the resort by the way so to those who are too lazy to head out to the mall, you can drop by the shop to get some food/toiletries etc. All in all, we had a great experience during our stay and I'm sure the resort is still in its early stages considering that there are many open areas esp. at the Trendy wing where we stayed that the resort could utilize such as having live performance or more cafes/eateries. Lastly, one small area of improvement is the mosquitoes which kind of bothers us when we spend the last night lazing around the pool area and no surprise, we left the area for our room barely 5 mins of settling down to enjoy the night sky. Perhaps the management can look into this. That pretty much sums it up for our trip. Once again, thank you Harris Resort for the warm hospitality and awesome service delivery.
