The food and service is excellent, the only drawback is the menu options.
I’ve ate here numerous times and the food is always good and the customer service is even better. Their biscuits are big, light, soft, fluffy and delicious. The gravy is always good with small pieces of fresh sausage in it, never tastes like that powder mix junk that another local place uses often. The hash browns and country potatoes are both very good. It’s just good southern comfort food with real, local ingredients. I like the fact they use real shell eggs instead of that liquid egg beaters stuff that most places have gone to now. The owners and staff are friendly and will do whatever they can to accommodate you if you have a special request or dietary restriction. I do wish there was a better variety of meals where you can choose different options instead of having to add or substitute something for an extra charge. Also the choice of smaller portions for adults, like being able to get a kids portion, because not everyone wants to do the $1.50 extra plate sharing option (if your spouse or whoever wants to eat something different) and take home breakfast is pretty gross leftover. I can’t eat a huge meal and hate to waste food, especially with as pricey as it is. All in all, I’d recommend them to anyone, just wish there were more options on the menu than having to “a la cart” items you want and it end up being like $15 for a meal so you can get the choices you want.

This has to be the best breakfast. The Country ham is awesome. They have a nice variety for breakfast. Everyone in the group was happy.

Walked in and was seated at 8:30 am on Monday. Extensive breakfast menu with something for everyone. I had the country sampler which had ham, sausage, bacon, eggs and biscuit with gravy. Excellent as the rating at top shows. Locally sourced farm products with the farmers listed on the wall. My wife had eggs, bacon and biscuit and gravy. No need to order more than one biscuit. These were “cat head” sized and split and covered with gravy is a plate full in itself. Great food. Moderate prices. Great service. Get there early, even on Monday, by 9:00 they were passing out pagers because the place was full. Not to worry, they have a great porch to wait on or you can shop in the gift shop.

Thank you so much your kind words and detail. We know there is generally going to be a wait during peak hours so the front porch and adjacent market allow plenty of room for guests to spread out. Hope to see you again soon!

We rent a cabin in Blue Ridge a couple of times a year, but never have good luck finding a good breakfast restaurant. Until now. It’s a little further north, but worth the drive. It was packed so we probably waited 20 minutes for a table. We looked around the store to keep busy. The pancakes and biscuits were fluffy (not dense or heavy). They were delicious. The bacon had great flavor. And, my hubby had some kind of has with collard greens that he said was amazing. He also loved the biscuits and gravy. No less than 3 waitresses stopped by to refill drinks and check on us. They were all super-friendly. We will definitely be back (probably this week).

Probably one of the best and freshest breakfasts I have ever had. Staff was friendly and service was very attentive. The meal was so good we made sure to visit a second time for breakfast on our way out. Everything we had was great. I would recommend paying this restaurant a visit, but get there early or be prepared to wait for a table.
