“Nice falls”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

There are 2 falls here.We did the shorter hike about .5 of a mile round trip to the lower falls. The upper falls are about 1.5 round trip. Lower falls was a easy short trail with a small viewing platform. It was a great place for a picnic. They also have campsites. it was not very crowed when we were there!

“Nice easy hike to pretty falls”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013 via mobile

We stopped at this National Forest hike on our way back from Lake Blue Ridge. There are tent camping areas in this small park. The 3/4 mile hike to the upper falls is leisurely and along the stream. We had my 2 1/2 year old nephew and he did well, just had to carry him a couple of parts to get moving faster. In the rainiest summer in years, it was quite wet with a few muddy areas, which a toddler loved. :) The falls were 3-4 cascades and were nice to view.

“Short, easy family outing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

Beautiful water falls. Very family friendly. The trail to the higher trail falls is the one to take. It says it is 3/4 of a mile. The "hike" (short walk) is extremely easy. You'll be walking in the shade pretty much the whole time. There really isn't any incline. Young kids will do just fine. You'll need to pay a parking fee of $3. Restrooms are disgusting. They are like an outhouse. There is camping available. This is a 2 hour stop, max.

“Nice waterfall!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

Stopped here towards the end of the day trying to make it to Neel's Gap before store closed (and did not, closed earlier than indicated on website). Day users park in first lot to left with a pit toilet facility and adjacent short trail with a number of picnic tables....might be buggy in the summer. You have to walk over to the campground and across creek to access the falls...lower falls is to the left and upper to the right. I did the larger upper falls...a little further than I thought, but not difficult. While there were a number of campers, I met no one else on the trail. Waterfall has a viewing platform down below it. While signs are up, it is obvious some venture further and closer, though signs warn against it. I did not have time to do the lower fall on this trip, but upper falls were certainly worth the hike.
