A jaw dropping model railway Fantasia. Everyone is astounded and touched by this experience. We are so fortunate that Charles Griffin retired in our community. All of my visitors are "gobsmacked" (as the British would say) by an afternoon living in Mr. Griffins Wonderland.
The $5 fee for adults goes to worthy causes. Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday year round at 1:45.

Wow! This model RR is the best layout I've ever seen in my life! This was started as a labor of love, so this gentleman could bond with his grandsons, and it just kept growing. The detail is excellent. You cannot tell where the road or track ends and the wall mural begins! Well done and first class all the way! The artist that painted the mural around the room did a flawless job! You actually walk through the layout! There are RR tracks at floor level, as well as all the way up above your head, at all different levels. You feel like a giant, walking in the river bed (on the floor), and through all the Georgia towns and locations on display. Note: Get there early, as he's ready to start on time. He actually started about 10 minutes before 2:00pm because the room was full. Fascinating man! You don't want to miss this!

This is truly a can't miss for any visitor to our area. Every man, woman, and child will be fascinated by this place. it was built as a labor of love by a Mr. Griffin. It was not designed to be an exhibit, but he converted it to allow visitors to get up close and personal. The amount of labor that went into building this layout is just incredible. I have been a number of times, both as simply a customer and as a volunteer for one of the many charities helped by Mr. Griffin. He is an angel. Charities are allowed to charge a small admission, but if none are available the donations are on the honor system.

We took our 20-something kids to see the Misty Mountain Railroad and we all loved it. This is a great way to spend the afternoon - very inexpensive ($5/adult and free for children) and so much to see! We were constantly saying to each other "Oh! Look at that!" The fact that this was done by private individuals who love model railroads makes it so much more impressive. And all proceeds go to local charities - gotta love that!
