The view is great and the staff is friendly.

The accommodation is horrible. No airco, no hot water, only one pancake for breakfast, no hot water and dirty. The room has open parts (like small windows without glass) and there is no mosquito net so get your malaria pills ready ;). Oh, and no working wifi. When you complain about it they act as if they are fixing it but actually they just go inside and come outside again without actually doing anything.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel

Didnt stay at the camp but we did the Rinjani Trekk.

It was a perfect adventure due to the kindess of the guide Sabar and the 4 porters. Those people are exceptionals, Sabar is only 22 and he knows his job perfectly. They looked after us all the trip and understood that it was a challenge for us to get to the top as quick as we could. They gave the good informations, they collected the rubbishs, they smile all the time in despite of the heavy things that they have to carry! Big respect for these guys that worked hard to make us live an amazing adventure.

Really happy, thanks to Awenk, Sabar and the porters!

Rinjani Base Camp do Rinjani Hiking, Waterfalls Trekking, restaurant and accommodation.

We booked a 3 day 2 night Rinjani trek (from Sembalun to Senaru)and waterfall trek via A&T Travel (Mr Dedy)and Mr Awenk from Rinjani Base Camp was who we dealt with as soon as we arrived in Lombok.

We are not particularly fit and this was the first serious trek we have done. Sabar (Our Guide), Ka and Sa (Our Porters) were all extremely friendly, professional and very helpful throughout our hike.

Sabar, our guide, was very understanding with our fitness level and let us take our time and stop for breaks whenever we needed to. The porters were very quick and impressive, they cooked us excellent food (better than some food we got from restaurants)- we were never hungry or thirsty and our guide had plenty of snacks for us throughout to day too.

We were unfortunate that on the second day of our hike, Mt.Rinjani erupted. Our guide kept calm, made sure that we were with him the whole time, and ensured that we made it back safely. Due to the eruption, we had to alter our route and didn't get to go to Senaru, but instead we went via the Torean Way.

When we got back, Mr.Awenk took us to our accommodation, provided us lunch & drinks (delicious Nasi Goreng!). He also came and checked up on us in the evening to ensure we were okay and happy with our experience.

The next day for our Waterfalls Trek, Mr.Awenk picked us up from the accommodation and provided us with a guide to take us to the waterfalls.
Then when we finished, he organized a driver for us to take us to the airport.

We highly recommend Rinjani Base Camp (Mr.Awenk and his Team) for your hiking / trekking experience.

We will come back again to do Senaru to Segara Anak Lake since we missed out on that bit.
Thank you Mr.Awenk for being so professional, friendly and accommodating throughout the whole process.

We didn't use for accommodation but the organisation of our trek.
We were 5 people of my family very experienced in alpinism and great mountain courses.
We decided to do a "special" Rinjani ascension: 2 days/1 night from Sembalun to Senaru...a big challenge!
And I have to say that Awenk's organisation from the beginning to the end was absolutely perfect.
Good car and driver taking us in Senggigi and bringing us late in the night at home, good breakfast in Rinjani Base Camp, great porters(!) and good indonesian food during the trek, nice equipments for sleeping, fantastic guide (!) always quiet and strong even in the "hard" moments ( the second day started from 2 AM to the summit, then to the lake, then to the rim and then to Senaru around 22 PM (!)... )
We really know what mountain company guides are ( Chamonix, La Grave, Zermatt etc...) and we can say that Rinjani Base Camp is part of the big ones.
Thanks Awunk!!
We'll be back!
Peter
