Description: Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine is a family owned business, established in 2005, that offers variety of authentic Turkish food from many regions of Turkey. Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine adapted its name from one of the oldest cities in the world, Istanbul, which was once known as the Constantinople in the early 13th century. The name “Bosphorous” taken from the strait that lies in the center of Istanbul connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, Europe to Asia. The decor of this eatery is kept to minimum to draw the attention to the food. The intent was to create a modernized, warm authentic atmosphere by taking the old elements of Istanbul and combining it with some modern influences to create a truly unique experience.

We were visiting Winter Park for the day with another couple, and decided to try Bosphorous for lunch, as we are all adventurous eaters. We were not disappointed. We started with the lavas bread and cucumber dip, which was a wonderful combination. Then while I had the calamari for my main dish, the others each had a different kebab. We all enjoyed our dishes completely. This will be a restaurant to return to.
Note: as another poster said, the waiters can be a bit aggressive about recommending larger quantities of food than you may like. If you don't mind taking a 'doggie bag', that may be ok, otherwise portions, we found, were quite generous.

The food is out of this world, the wait staff is wonderful. The only problem-and, actually it is a major problem-was the mosquitoes swarming under our table. One of our party was wearing a dress, so she was being eaten up. Our waitress found some insect repellent which worked, but smelled like chemicals. The wait staff apologized for it, and said it couldn't really be helped. Management needs to find out what other restaurants are doing this summer.

I could eat here every day. Fresh well made food. Everything tastes homemade from scratch. Friendly staff that let you enjoy your food and do not hover over you. I would eat lunch here everyday if I could!

I was with a friend and we decided to try it partially on the strength of the wonderful chicken morsels they were handing out as we passed. We opted for the puff of bread with sauces for an appetizer and it was great along with an excellent bottle of white Turkish wine, I had the lamb and it was also excellently done. Our waiter might have been a little too eager to up-sale us to otherwise it was a really nice experience and I would gladly go again. And it is not far from the Morse Museum.

We have previously enjoyed the lamb shanks at the Dr Phillips location , so along with another couple , we came to the original restaurant in Winter Park. We understand that it would not be as quiet , due to the age & location, so no real unhappiness with that. It was busy evening , but our waiter Alberto was as attentive as he possibly be,very please with his service. Three of us ordered the braised lamb shanks , they were excellent , my wife and I could easily have share one entree. The portions (2) of shank are large and have plenty of flavorful meat on them.
The only complaint , is that when we had them in Dr Phillips , they were served with more vegetables, potatoes carrots & onions. Anyway we had the leftovers the next day , and next time we will request additional veggies on the order.
