“Love this restaurant!”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

I first ate here during an office holiday luncheon last December. I was so impressed that I took my wife here for our anniversary this week. The consistency in food quality and service was amazing.

Their escargot in puff pastry is delectible and different from the traditional way of preparing.

The scallops were divine, and the filet mignon was cooked perfectly.

Their chocolate souffle was wonderful but be sure to try their creme brulee. I've had that dessert at restaurants from Seattle to Miami and theirs is absolutely the BEST I've ever eaten.

“Good, but pricey”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We had a Restaurant.com coupon & decided to use it for our anniversary this year. It really didn’t make much of a dent in the tab, as this place is pricey.
First, the wine list; it is extensive, but not one wine under $40 unless you buy it by the glass. We recognized some brands & thought the mark-up was excessive.
Secondly, the food: the onion soup was to die for! We both ordered this & thought it was wonderful! The bread & spreads were very tasty & I could have made an entire meal of the soup, bread, & wine.
Hubby ordered the goat cheese salad for an extra $4. Nothing special on this small salad except they forgot the cheese. He bit his tongue & didn’t mention it. Nice raspberry dressing.
I ordered the scallops for $27 & received 3 medium/large scallops, which we both thought was stingy. Beautiful presentation with a bite of artichoke heart, 3 small pieces of asparagus, 2 small slices of blanched carrot, 2 snow peas, & a very small scoop of rice. Hubby made the mistake of not asking the price of the fish of the day, which was ahi tuna @ $50. He had the same veggies & rice. He did receive a nice portion of tuna & it was superb.
We shared crème brule’ for desert, which was wonderful, a larger size than most places, & nicely priced at $7. We were pleasantly surprised by this.
Service & food was excellent, but the portions & prices didn’t justify a return. We generally eat at a French restaurant closer in DeLand on our anniversary that does a special surprise for us & we will return there from now on.

“Tasty French Fare”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

This was our first time at Chez Vincent and it was a great experience! We started out with appetizers, quail with raspberry reduction sauce for me and french onion soup for my husband, both of which were very good. The entrees followed and were just as delectable. The wine list is extensive and the two that we tried, Pouilly Fuisse' and a Bordeaux were delicious and complemented the entrees that we chose.
As for the atmosphere, the lights were dimmed to create a romantic setting and the seating was cozy. Unfortunately, the mood that they were trying to create was lost, due to the fact that we could clearly hear the conversations going on at the surrounding tables. The service, however, was very good and our waiter was funny as well as being thoroughly attentive.
Overall, the experience was great and I would recommend Chez Vincent to anyone. Bon Apetit!

“Excellent French Restaurant”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Menu looks just like the ones we saw in France. Plenty of great choices for lunch and dinner...lunch entrees are also available for dinner.

Food was delightful and service was very good. Nice atmosphere, restrooms are very clean.

We will soon return to this very good restaurant!

“Very Good but NOT Outstanding”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

The first time we ate at Chez Vincent - both service and food were excellent. Four of us dined there this past week and were less than enthusiastic. Service was good. Some food was disappointing. The soups were outstanding - onion, mushroom and pumpkin. The lamb portion was small and overcooked. Two of us had scallops that were 'to die for' and the salmon was perfectly prepared. The deserts were underwhelming, especially the souffle which we'd never order again. And we LOVE souffle's! We'd definately return but order more carefully! They offrer a prix fixe menu but it didn't excite us.
