A beautiful new hotel, lots of art, great open spaces. We had a king on the top floor. Large shower, spacious room, mirrored armoire instead of closet, great mattress...can't ask for much better. The location is next to Rollins and within walking distance of Park Avenue. It's a boutique hotel with only about 110 rooms. The art work is varied and everywhere, like strolling through a very large gallery. There was a large wedding party that evening that was easily accommodated. We had a very pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Alfond Inn this weekend during their soft opening. All we can say is that we enjoyed the experience. We had a delightful time and were well attended to from the valet service to the exceptional dining in their restaurant, Hamilton's Kitchen (don't let the word 'kitchen' lower your level of expectation!). Being right in downtown Winter Park, there's nothing better than starting Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market and strolling the avenue unless it's being poolside at The Alfond Inn. We look forward to returning!

What a wonderful property! The art and architecture are lovely and the service was very friendly. We had a king room on the fifth floor with a view of Lake Virginia. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was very nicely decorated. The pool is outdoors on the second floor, with plenty of lounge chairs and shade for those who want it. The property has an elegant, modern feel to it without being cold in any way. The art work throughout the hotel is worth a stop, even if you don't stay at the hotel. There was a lively crowd at the bar on a Friday night, and the restaurant (Hamilton's Kitchen) seemed quite busy for dinner. We enjoyed a relaxing breakfast there; I'm looking forward to coming back to have dinner in the restaurant soon.

Room Tip: Since the pool and fitness center are on the second floor, there's a bit more traffic in the hal...

Purchased a Travelzoo voucher for this hotel because we coincidentally have a friend's birthday party coming up at a restaurant less than 2 miles away from the hotel and we don't live in the area. I was very excited because it looks like a great property, but unfortunately, we didn't get the opportunity to stay at this hotel because their website wouldn't allow me to make the reservation with the promotion code (I checked their website before purchasing the voucher and rooms are available; just not with the Travelzoo "extras", i.e. welcome cocktails, free valet parking, and free breakfast). So I called the hotel directly and politely explained my situation; hoping that due to the fact that we will only be in the area for that one night, they would be willing to make an exception with regard to the "limited availability of promotional rate rooms". I understand the idea behind promotional rates and do not argue why they are used, but I am disappointed that since there were rooms available that they were unwilling to extend me that courtesy. I would be more understanding if we lived in the area and were just looking for a local escape to try out a new hotel and enjoy a night away from home where the date was flexible. I also do not understand it from the standpoint that, as a new hotel in the area, they are not more concerned about fostering customer relationships and creating "traffic" in their hotel. I will say that the woman I spoke with on the phone was very courteous (and I in return), but sorry to say that we will not be attempting to return to this hotel at any point in the future based on this initial contact and will be spending our hard-earned money elsewhere.

We couldn't resist the opportunity to stay at Winter Park's newest, and only hotel, on its opening weekend. A beautiful boutique hotel, with lovely architecture that will be familiar to anyone who has attended Rollins. The hotel feels right at home in Winter Park. From the 5-star service, to the room amenities, the spacious grounds, and south beach worthy pool deck, we had a wonderful time.

A beautiful new hotel in the heart of old Winter Park. Great location. But: No chairs on the room balconies--nice balconies but you can't use them; Reception/Main Number Phones are very often not answered (at all) when calling in from the outside, and the call doesn't even go to voice mail; No email confirmation is sent when making a resrvation by phone; A classically styled (think Ritz Carlton) hotel and yet has some neon signage as wall decoration. Perhaps because this hotel is in its early stages of opening there are still things to be worked out. We are just happy that there is a decent hotel in Winter Park. It is very, very long overdue. Now if Winter Park could just improve their ugly streets (i.e. Fairbanks Ave) with motor homes, used car dealers and all kinds of ugly presentations leading into the town from the intersate.

This place has the potential to be one of the best places in Orlando. The staff (valet, bellman, front desk, bar service, wait staff) was all welcoming, friendly and eager to help and see their establishment a success. Our king room with sitting area was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bathroom had quality amenities and a good size walk in shower (no tub). The climate control was easy to understand and the central system worked beautifully. Parking is valet only at $18 overnight - a bit pricey. The room has a safe and small fridge.

We did not have dinner here, but did enjoy the lounge and give the wine/drinks high marks. Breakfast was very good and priced reasonably. There are large seating areas both indoor and outdoor to relax and socialize in. The Inn is full of art which we were told will rotate from the gallery on the Rollins College Campus.

You can't beat the location only two blocks off Park Avenue so you can walk to boutiques, dining and the fabulous Morse Museum of Art with the world's largest Tiffany exhibit.

There were some small blips. Our room was not ready until after 4 PM. There were some minor issues with the room i.e.: no wastebasket at the desk in the sitting area, a broken fixture in the bathroom (appeared to be a construction error missed on the punch list) and a coffee maker placed where it is difficult to fill with water without spilling on the carpet, and a nonworking clock radio. All things which should be easily remedied.
