I went through the Morse Museum again this week after a 20+ year absence. It was even better than I had remembered. Visitors really must start by watching the 2 videos - they give a great context for the history of the McKean couple who financed the museum, and the incredible genius of CL Tiffany - he was an amazingly talented man who worked in so many mediums. The relatively new addition of the Laurelton Estate components that were recovered from the fire on Long Island - the daffodil columns from the terrace, the chapel, and the stained glass from the dining room are spectacular. Give yourself several hours to go through the museum - and take the time to read the placques describing each piece. A dynamite museum!

This was a spur of the moment visit. I knew somewhat of the history of the Tiffany family but it was quite intriguing and the exhibits were fantastic. The Tiffany chapel is breathtaking! The grounds are lovely as well. Worth every penny of the $5!

I have visited the Morse Museum many times whenever I am in Central Florida, and I never get tired of it. It is filled with art glass from the turn of the century, as well as relics rescued by the museum founders from Tiffany's mansion, Laurelton Hall, on Long Island after it burned to the ground in 1957. The museum has now opened a Laurelton Hall exhibit, recreating a beautiful patio area as well as the dining room. There is also an arts & crafts movement exhibit. Sometimes the museum takes favorite items out of exhibit to make room for others, but it is always a pleasure to visit. The entry fee has been raised, but only slightly (from $3 to $4 or $5), and the Morse remains a great bargain.

For $5 each, you can see stunning photos, art, and the largest collection of Tiffany glass in the world, well worth the effort, right on Park Ave.
