“Great food,service,atmosphere”
Reviewed May 12, 2012

Have been twice in the last 2 weeks..once as part of a girls night out(8 of us) and the second time was for lunch with my 2 best men(husband and his dad from New Zealand). Both times the selection of food was great, our server(from Rome) did a fabulous job and in the evening a small musical group was playing. Pizza (3 kinds) were all delicious but the margarita was my favorite. The drinks and deserts were yummy as well!

“Tasty, but soggy pizza. Nice outdoor seating.”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Down New England Avenue from Park Avenue, this restaurant is in a nice area with pleasant outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered, so it works in the rain and bright sunshine. There was no loud music blaring, so you can have a quiet conversation.
We went for lunch and had a nice meal outside with pizza and lasagna. The meat lasagna ($10) was very good although they put it on a cold plate so it was only lukewarm when it got to the table. It also didn't come with any kind of vegetable or salad. A house salad was extra. We also had a veggie pizza ($15) which was very tasty, but the bottom crust was extremely soggy. I don't think they had the oven hot enough when it was cooked or it sat around too long before it was served. The pizza is also large -- enough for two women to share. We ended up taking half the pizza home. When you put the pizza in a frying pan for a few minutes, the crust crisps up nicely. The pizza toppings (mushrooms, roasted red peppers, onions, and arugula) had a lot of taste. Just FYI, you don't get any bread or anything else while you're waiting for your meal.

Service was decent -- not fantastic, but not bad.

About the seating, if you have really wide hips, you may not fit into the seats or they may be uncomfortable. I didn't notice any chairs without arms.

“Great Location, Good Atmosphere, Moderate Value”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

A clean, modern, charismatic Winter Park charmer with a great location and style. First and foremost the staff is pleasant, efficient, knowledgable and seems just delighted to have you as a guest. The menu is a variety pack of offerings, from soup and salad, to sandwiches, pizza and full dinners. A very nice wine list complements the various choices and the bar is generous. The prices are perhaps what you would expect in Winter Park - a little more than the usual. My wife and I had Panini sandwiches that, while tasty, were unnotable. Friends had pizzas which were far more appetizing and had a wonderful presentation. For me, though, the place gets gigged just a little on value. It is that price in exchange for food thing - nothing I tasted made me say "wow." Great marks on all other aspects though, so give them a try. After all, I only ordered a Panini and I doubt the restaurant touts the sandwiches as their centerpiece.

“Bon appetit!”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

One of my favorite places in Orlando. The italian wines are big, jammy and fun when paired with the delicious pasta dishes at Amrando's. Start your meal with a great selection of cheeses to give your wine a nice spice. The pumpkin ravioli is one of my favorites or I go with a traditional spaghetti and meatballs. The pizza is tasty and crisp. Service is always good. The place can get a little loud on a busy night so I choose to sit on the back porch when available. Armondo and his staff have done it right. Go, eat and enjoy the best italian wine & meal in Winter Park. Until next time...Cheers!

“Service just seems to get worse”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

My wife and I have come here a couple of times and she has come with friends a few more. It has a nice atmosphere and a very good location, The food is Italian, specializing in pizza and pasta.
Initially, the food was very good and the service was at least passable. As we revisited, culminating with my wife's visit last night, the service has digressed to the point of being simply awful. Drinks are often not served without multiple requests, bread comes out after dinner and you run the risk of a lonely start to your evening as even getting served initially can be difficult. The service really seems to be best summarized by incompetent with a splash of arrogance and a dash of rudeness. I don't often write bad reviews but, if the shoe fits.......
So, to summarize, the setting is nice, the food is usually good (though my wife said her tuna last night was awful, an exception) and if service is not a major issue with you, then it's probably worth a try. Probably.
