We stayed here for one night before a trip to Orland for an MCA national car show. We booked room 212, which had beautiful antique furniture, a really comfortable king sized bed, a big closet, an antique sofa with coffee table and vanity with triple mirror. The bathroom was efficient, but the sink was in the bedroom area. This actually was more conveinent for getting ready in the morning. The room was extremely clean and comfotable. An ample supply of big fluffy towels along with tioletries were provided. Breakfast in the morning was very good, with the best maple smoked bacon I've ever had. Coffee and snacks were always available along with a guest refrigerator with cold water. We viewed some of the other rooms, all of which were decorated with antiques and different themes. Cute town with several nice shops made for a relaxing day. There is an excellent Thai restaurant located in hotel building. Moon Cricket across the street was very good. The walking/biking path made for a pleasant morning walk. The staff were more than gracious, very helpful and knowledgable, even helped us find a car wash close by to clean our classic car. Town hosts a classic car show every Saturday night, which we will be back for in the future!

Room Tip: make sure of bed size before reserving, as some rooms have only double beds

We found this adorable little town by accident and promised for over a year to visit. Only had time for an overnight but found we loved this area. Rode the trail, visited the shops and had a great stay at the Edgewater. We will definitely be back. The folks are warm and kind.

We had tried to book a room at this charming historic hotel about 6 months ago and they were full -- so we were delighted to be able to stay this past weekend. We would definitely return -- the room, the service, the breakfast, and all were great. It was fun to meander down the main street and stop for lunch, a beer, and later dinner. We were just sorry it was a Sunday and the little shops weren't open. Thanks to Katie and everyone at the Edgewater Hotel. Annie & Richard

Room Tip: The rooms look just like they do on the website -- so pick one that catches your interest!

What a gift to experience this lovely inn. Situated in peaceful Winter Garden (a kickback to Mayberry), this quiet and charming inn is ideally situated near Orlando's main tourist attractions. Restored with modern amenities, this historic hotel retains its character with the homey furnishings and antiques. The breakfast is nice with many options and the staff most accommodating. I can recommend Room 212, a corner room with large windows, a king-sized bed, love seat, desk and other warm furnishings. While the stairs are restored to their original character and great for working off that breakfast, it is a treat to be shuttled to the second floor in the vintage 1926 Otis elevator! You cannot possibly beat the value and all that the Edgewater Hotel has to offer anywhere in the greater Orlando area.

The hotel is situated on "main" street in winter garden, FL which is a small historic village that has all the comforts...restaurants, beer and wine tasting, etc.. The building was remodeled however they kept most of the charm which most owners would have ripped them out. For example they kept the original elevator that much be manually operated.

The rooms are also very historic. They kept the original bath fixtures which work as if they where new. They even have rooms where the bath is down the hall. The rooms are air conditioned, clean and have fun antiques in them like an old dentist chair.

The breakfast is not like you would get at the big chains. You can eat as much as you want and it's real breakfast food...eggs, bacon, French toast, waffles, etc... The breakfast is included in the room price.

If you want a little nostalgia, with a great breakfast and in a lovely town then check this place out.

This hotel is owned by a Christian band and their attitudes clearly reflect on the service they provide. They work really hard to make this hotel the best and unique experience for its visitors. I have never been to a hotel where all the guests and the management are as interactive with each other. To fold all the towels and cloths in the basket (with the shampoos and soaps) the way they do takes a lot of hard work and dedication. That was the best bed I ever slept on! I didn't want to leave the shower because it felt so good! They do an amazing job of keeping the hotel historic and at the same time, with a modern feel (with wifi and hot water, etc). The staff shows a very loving a positive attitude about taking you to the floor above (the elevators are manual). They have a menu where you can order your own breakfast food. I HIGHLY recommend you stay at this hotel when you come to Central Florida!

My husband and I were going to dinner at the Chef's Table and rather than plan on driving back to Orlando after a big meal (with wine) we decided to make a day of it in Winter Garden and spend the evening at the historic Edgewater Hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms are quaint, charming, clean and reasonably priced. The location is great for bike riding, with a major bike trail and many nature trails going through the area. The hotel is downtown so there are many dining, drinking and entertainment options within walking distance. The Edgewater makes a great base for a quick day or weekend getaway.

It's a bed & breakfast in a historic hotel though so it's pretty much a room, bathroom and common breakfast hall/lounge--no amenities to speak of other than a pleasant location and staff, but then if you are looking for a W hotel you are probably not vacationing in Winter Garden, are you?

Room Tip: Rooms facing the main downtown street have a nice view but if you are a light sleeper you may not ap...
