Our plane arrived into Orlando about an hour later than expected due to the weather (we arrived after midnight). After we picked up our car and made it to the Edgewater Hotel, there were no lights on and the place looked closed. We called the number listed on the clerk's desk and someone answered and came down right away to check us in. They were so incredibly nice and accommodating!! We were exhausted and although we slept in past the time for breakfast, someone fixed us breakfast anyway and actually sat down and talked with us while we ate. Everyone was so friendly and the place is very, very clean and extremely quiet. I will definitely stay here again on my way though Florida!!

As a WG native, I was surprised to find out that the old Edgewater Hotel was renovated and so well regarded when I had to find lodging on short notice due to a death in the family. I still cannot believe how beautiful the renovation is; not only the hotel but also Plant Street... The hotel retains it's southern charm and is as clean as any I have ever encountered worldwide. The rooms are decorated individually and with a nod to the history they hold. The staff are wonderful and the breakfast and common living/dining area makes it feel less like a hotel and more like home. Just what I needed. I recommend it without reservation to folks looking for something different.

I must admit I like different maybe even qwerky so this place caught my eye while reviewing a place to stay on a recent trip, My husband & I liked everything about this place. It's quaint, so comfortable, extra clean, very cute, the location is great, good made to order breakfast is included & if that wasn't enough of a sale the staff is the icing on the cake. I slept like a baby on dreamy gel top beds with gel pillows. There are other surprises like the antique elevator which you need to experience. There is a common room where coffee, snacks & fridge are available anytime.
What a "wonderful" stay with "wonderful" people. Do stay here, we will be back.

Room Tip: We were in room 213. Thermostat is controlled by the hotel for this room. Not a problem We had a...

We stayed in Room 207, a room on the inside of the building. This made for a quieter, more shaded room. It has two separate beds, with memory foam toppers. TV is tiny, but we hardly switched it on. It has ensuite facilities, though the hand wash basin is in the room, not in the bathroom. The shower in the bath looks worse for wear but works great! Separate faucets for shower and bath. AC was very quiet. Place was as spotless as ever and the staff are attentive and polite. As ever its location in the center of WG, handy for the bike trail and other more busy ventures, makes it just right for lots of people.

Room Tip: They are always updating this historic building. They are hoping to install double glazing on the Pl...

My friend & I were traveling to central Florida for a triathlon. We booked a double room at the Edgewater, per the recommendation of a friend who had been there. Much to our surprise, the double room was actually two physical rooms connected by a bathroom, containing a total of 3 beds. What a bargain! We plan to travel here for more races and training in central Florida and we could bring even more friends for a great price. The town of Winter Garden is a quaint, little gem unexpected in the state of Florida. There are nice restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and there are even 2 triathlon stores right there on the same street (a bike shop is right next-door!). The hotel itself is a historical landmark, the elevator needs to be hand-operated by the hotel staff. Alicia from the front desk was so kind - she didn't even balk when we needed her to get us downstairs at 5am with our bikes on race morning. We will be back! Great place for a great price.

After driving by often when visiting our son and family who live nearby,we decided to treat ourselves and what a treat it was! We had our daughter and 6 year old granddaughter with us and enjoyed showing them furnishings etc that we loved from our childhood years. The breakfast room, with its singing birds and delicious breakfast was a beautiful way to wake up. The young staff is delightful...so genuinely friendly and helpful. We have been telling our friends about it and hope to visit again. We came up to Winter Garden to see our grandson in the Wizard of Oz at the Garden Theater so all in all it was a family gathering for our memory books!
