“Good home-made meals”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. There is an extensive menu with many options. The service was excellent. The dessert (flan) was very flavorful.

“Great homecooked taste!!!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Face it, the physical appeal is not really there, the restaurant is located in a small/short shopping center strip in a so-so area.. I was just visiting a friend in Fort Lauderdale and after a visit to a beach we wandered in this area, googled cuban food, and this restaurant popped up. We decided to give it a try, ( and we were hungry, too). The place was very clean, the people looked like familiar folks when they smiled at us. The menu is varied and we were salivating while reading it. To start we ordered the mariquitas, or what I call the aranitas. Anyways this is green plantains fried so thin and so crisp! You dip them on a garlic sauce and voila!! Ambrosia.. I ordered the bacalao guisado with rice, and aside of a needed pinch of salt was really delicious. My friends ordered the mofongo relleno. Of course, I had to try it and BINGO!! They got the award on this one. We also ordered a carafe of their sangria, and I have to warn you, you'll be ordering more than one!! We ordered one to go as well!! Because of the sangria I can remember any of the other stuff, but I do remember than nothing was bad, not even mediocre.. ALL was very good. And it helps that the servers are very pleasant. Make sure to say hello to the owner. Happy jolly guy!! Give it a try.. You won't be disappointed!! Prices are very reasonable, too. It's probably the best kept secret in that area. Aaaand they told us that the breakfast are unforgettable!! Happy eating..

“Visit to Florida”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

We wanted good Cuban food in Ft Lauderdale and were told that this was where the locals went.
It was so good that we kept going back....not for the atmosphere, but for the great Cuban food.
They have daily specials and everything is a winner. It is inexpensive and the portions are large.
Almost as good as Mario's for a fraction of the price. Tostones, yuca, fried bananas, black beans and rice and great pork, chicken and seafood. We'd go there every often if we lived there!

“Cuban Cheap Eats”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Carne Asada Nicaraguence, Cuban Sandwiches, Lechon Asado, black beans and rice, all the basics. Dont expect ambiance. Expect large portions of good stuff at great prices. Friendly waitresses now mostly speak enough English to get by. I like this place so much and it's so convenient there have been days when I was in there for lunch and then again for dinner. And they're open very late.
