I took my family to this restaurant and they all enjoyed it. The service was excellent. Our meals were delicious and portions were good size. We would recommend this restaurant to others.

the service was good but the food was not good. it was very pricey and I still had to send my plate back because the chicken was not done. and my husband's lobster was over done. it was very rubbery.

After many years of satisfaction at the quality and selection at Old Florida Seafood, we were sorely disappointed. From the wine selection to the breadbasket, to the conch chowder, and sides the slide in the standards of the restaurant were evident. To make matters worse, our favorite fish, the swordfish, was not available and this was not announced when the menus were handed out. The chocolate pie was not available on the early bird set menu, although it was on the à la carte! So all in all, we see the corners being cut and so this is out last time there. Alas!

After nearly thirty years of knowing that Old Florida Seafood House would always be a great experience, we'll never go back. We arrived at 6:20 pm on a Friday night in December and went in the Lounge door since it should have been packed in the Main Dining Room on a Friday in season. We waited 15 minutes before someone came to take our order - she seemed surprised we wanted drinks first. If it was busy, I would have forgiven that...
We ordered dinner at the same time to save her a trip, (after all we had plenty of time to peruse the menu while we waited.) So drinks came, eventually... then we waited, and waited...7:40 our salads came after we reminded the server we were still waiting for salads.
From there it was downhill even faster. By now, we have heard every diner around us complain about the quality of the bread basket, the slow service, the lack of attention, etc...
we finally got our dinners, lukewarm. The Twice-baked potatoes tasted freezer-burned, the fried zuccini was dripping soggy and foul tasting, the salmon was dreadfully overcooked, and the veal francease was oily, and tasteless..
When I tried to talk to the new owner (who had been doing paperwork at the front door when we arrived and was getting ready to take over the bar) she was argumentative and non-apologetic.
When the server brought our check, she was told to take a meal off the check to try to appease us and the check came back with the same charges on it.
We won't return - ever...

I cannot stop raving to all my friends and family in the area. The new owners are awesome, and making every attempt to satisfy the desires of returning guests of many years, while attempting to attract new guests of a different generation that desires other types of seafood options. The wait staff was knowledgeable and pleasant, and the teamwork effort was definitely noticed!
The lounge bar has a face lift that has long been overdue! It is so awesome to see that PRIDE has been put back into a place that was aesthetically neglected for so long by the previous owner. This establishment is a huge undertaking for anyone, but I can see that it is becoming modernized and up to date. Servers no longer have to add up guests checks manually, but have a new POS (POINT OF SALE) system.
I am seeing that new guests are coming to dine, and soon the guests of ages and centuries will soon be standing waiting on their table instead of 'walker-ing' their way ahead. There's 2 large and long benches out front to ensure they do not have to stand, and for those more adventurous, daring, and "modern," the updated lounge bar has seating available while waiting on a table or booth.
The food is awesome! Kudo's to Andrew and Lauren! You both deserve great acknowledgement of the undertaking in revitalizing an iconic establishment that has been in existence since 1977, but was almost locked and torn down or turned into another nightclub! The guests who have been dining at OFSH should be thankful that they are able to dine at this landmark and be able to continue to do so!
