I love Japanese food, but often I am not a huge fan of sushi... now I know why. Most places the fish just isn't fresh. The best Sushi I've eaten was when I lived in California. I've always found most places in Ft. Lauderdale a bit mediocre until I went to Sozo. This place is a tiny family run place and you can tell that quility is their first priority. Not a very extensive menu, but what they do do is excellent.
On my first visit I sat down at the sushi bar and told the chef to put up what ever he felt was good and keep it coming until we say stop... If you're on a budget don't try this! It was expensive but worth every penny. This was by far the best sushi I've had in this city. And I tried things I would have never ordered in my life and I'm glad I did. The eel, which is not one of my favorite things, is excellent! The chef cooks it to order, it's not that pre-packaged stuff most places serve, which gives you a bit of insight in how they do things. Scallops, Monk Fish Liver, Uni, exotic and delicous. They also have sushi combos which are more affordable. Great list of Sake as well. Try this place!
