I was fascinated to review the finest 25 beaches as reported on Trip Advisor, there are two glaring omissions King's Beach at Byron Bay in Australia and Half Moon Bay, Antigua; the beauty of Half Moon Bay is the sheer simplicily the ruined hotel and half hour drive that keep all but the most dedicated visitors at bay. Crystal clear waters combined with a mile of unspoiled beautiful white sand. Smiling Harry is still selling beer and the best home cooking on the Island just up from the beach and is not to missed.

Your first view of Half Moon Bay from the top of the hill tells you right away that you're somewhere special. The beach is just stunning, beautiful colour, nice wave action, isolated, greenery all around.

If you want a less "wave-y" area to swim, head left from the parking lot. At first you will think that you're going to be alone, but as you walk along, you'll notice that there are people hiding under the trees in the shade.

There are no services here, so bring anything you need. There is a little resto though up the road from the parking lot.

This beach is way-the-hell-and-gone and hard to find, but it is an absolutely beautiful crescent of unspoiled white sand with very few visitors (at least weekdays).

Parts of it are more rocky for getting in the water than others. We found the section to the right of the parking area best. There are no services, so bring anything you require in the way of towels, umbrella and drinks.

Also, the breakers are sizeable. So, it is not a beach suitable for young children.

We enjoyed the baby powder like sand and the waves for body surfing. Also saw kite surfers. Nice to bring picnic because a bit remote. Probably would hang past sunset though we had no problems
