“where is the service and the manager”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

it is a real shame to see a restaurant with very good food and ambiance to fault due to the lack of service. we visited this restaurant at the end of january, it was very busy inside , and while we waited for our table on the patio we had a cocktail at the bar, here is were I notice a young lady polishing the cutlery by the kitchen in full view of the guests and one fork fell to the floor, she picked it up , wipe it and mix it with all the other clean cutlery, if I wasn't a guest of my Miami friends I would have walked out of this restaurant. we dined on the outside patio and was not busy at all,but our waiter was not attentive to the service, the empty cocktail glasses were left on the table for the duration of the dinner, we serve our self the wine and our waiter occasionally walk out from the main dining room but never paid any attention to the table. we saw the restaurant manager on our way out, he said good buy and he never asked how was our dinner. this left me to believe that the customers are not important in this restaurant, you dine, you pay and you leave, i know you are a popular restaurant and busy but if you continue like this with the service I wonder for how long you will be.

Lots of choices. Good desserts. Omelette station and carving station-turkey especially good. One of the few breakfast buffet lunches in the area.

“Not a value...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

I went to this rest. a couple of weeks ago. On the positive side, the waiter was great and the ambiance is nice. The negative...the mussels and clams were amongst the smallest I have ever seen. This obviously takes away from the value. The seasonings were ok, I would have to say too much salt, not enough fresh herbs. The prices are a little high for what you get. Granted the place is nice, but I have eaten much better for a lot less money.

“Salty and more salt”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012

Expensive and salty. First of all they should tell you the price of the specials. It's so obnoxious when a restaurant has specials that are double the price of their normal dishes and the don't tell you. Food would have been much better if they didn't put a pound of salt on each dish. We were a party of 8 and across the board everyone commented how salty it was so if you go tell them no salt and do it yourself. The fried calamari was not very good, oily with mushy breading and no bodies just rubbery tentacles. The portion of the chilean sea bass was very small and just ok for $36. Veal chops were ok if not so salty but much to expensive for what they were. Stick with the main menu.

“Best Italian restaurant in Florida”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

Having experienced New York's Little Italy, I was impressed with the exceptional service and quality of food at Il Toscano. It is by far the best dinning experience.

Be sure to ask for Brando and Mario. Tell them Otto said hello!
