We enjoyed our stay at Best Western. I will definitely stay here again. The continental breakfast was great. I loved the sausage and gravy most lol. We love how the hotel is close to the mall and target and all other nearby areas. 10 out 10 for Best Western

My husband and I recently stayed at the Best Western Palm Lakes back in the beginning of August and really was surprised at how nice the hotel was. Open arrival, we nearly passed the hotel, due to the sign not being raised high enough, so that it stands out when you drive off the main highway.

Once we walked inside the hotel lobby, it looked really nice, with modern, chic decor and fall like colors such as plums, tans and earth tone colors. The eating area for breakfast is also located in the lobby, with the restrooms on the corner right and there was also a tea and coffee station for guest wanting a hot beverage. My husband and I chuckled as you can smell the chlorine from the pool area in the lobby. Nonetheless the pool area looked good and we had to walk outside and pass the pool area to get to our room. I was happy that our room was facing the pool area.

There is no elevator in this hotel as it's a two story hotel. As we finally walked along the room doors and came upon our room number, we were a bit hesitant as we thought this looked like a motel. But alas! As we opened the door, much to our surprised, the room was very spacious and we entered a sitting/living room area and a kitchen/dining area to eat. The kitchen area also had a sink to wash dishes, a refrigerator, a microwave, drawers to store away food and a spacious counter top. There was also a table with four chairs in the kitchen area to sit and eat. We were very pleased.

Next, we open another door leading to the bedroom and was impressed at the size of the room and the closet space. The bathroom was somewhat small but that didn't really bother us. We loved the fact that the living room and bedroom had a door to separate the two. So you can literally close your bedroom door, and a person waiting in the living room area cannot see you.

I must say, we got a great deal on such a spacious room. It looked like a one bedroom apartment that you could totally live in. We had the King suite and really loved the room. The decor had a mix of oranges, browns and tans and the whole color scheme of the room throughout, came together nicely.

Another added bonus to this hotel is the location. It's literally next door to a Target and you're basically on a strip with the mall right across the street. There's also restaurants you can choose from like "Red Robins" a Steakhouse and this Asian cuisine "Pei Wei" diner, which was really good. This is great for those who does not want to drive and prefer to do leisurely walks along the strip. This is also for those that want to grab a quick bite to eat. Do wear lots of suntan lotion as the sun can be brutal at times. My husband and I stumbled on this awesome restaurant called "First Watch" as the breakfast that was offered at the hotel was not good at all. There were slim pickings at the hotel and I think breakfast ended at 9:30 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. First Watch is a healthy breakfast/brunch restaurant that was really good! They food there was unbelievable and healthy!

In a nutshell, if you're visiting the West Palm area in Florida, I highly recommend this hotel. The price was right and you're in walking distances to shopping and various eateries.

Room tip: Try to get a room near the Pool area.

Thank you LadyBugzz for the very nice review. We feel we have a lot to offer because of the area. And yes, looks are deceiving. There is a reason we are in the top ten out of 35 hotels listed on Trip Advisor in West Palm Beach.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, pool area and lobby very clean. Breakfast was good always kept full. A lot of places to eat, outlet mall across the street. Area very safe. Very quiet, bed comfortable didn't care for the pillows but that is just me I always bring my own.

I asked for a quiet room, got put on the pool side of the motel--and right next to the room where laundry was done by the cleaning staff. Which was still going on at 9pm. There were substantial gaps all around the door to the room, plenty of space for the Florida wildlife (bugs) to get in. The breakfast was not very good, unless you're into the waffle making. The eggs cannot be described. The sausage patties were dripping grease. No yogurt or anything else that could have been easily spirited out to the rooms. The manager informed me at checkout that I should have called security about the noise--who knew they had security? I do not recommend this motel, especially at the price I paid. I live in Florida, but still get socked with the excessive taxes. Since I was there for a funeral service and to see a friend in Hospice, who was dying, this place did nothing to make it easier. So you might want to stay elsewhere.

Room tip: don't--go somewhere else

Missed my flight and had to overnight. I like Best Western and am a platinum rewards member.

Very nice reception experience. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. Gave a good reference for dinner and arranged for my transportation to the airport in the morning.

The hotel is dated and needs to have upgrades to the guest rooms. Looks old but was sufficiently clean - especially the critical area; bathroom. The room had a damp smell and was bothersome to me. Just needs a good deep cleaning in my opinion. It was ok for the price paid of $89.

Did not have breakfast due to a 4:00am departure, so cannot offer a comment.
