This Park, near the intersection of Forest Hill Blvd and the Florida Turnpike, captures and preserves what much of South Florida was like before the invasion of sun-hungry Northerners. Flat empty space, lakes, grasslands, and a few trees sprinkled in. As such, if you are in search of fast-paced and dramatic excitement, this may not be quite for you. But if you are looking for a quiet and at times serene environment in a large metropolitan area of suburbs, if you want to observe wildlife, if you want to have a quick escape for a picknick or canoeing or biking, this may be your place. And, for a few days every year, even fast-paced action is to be had, when the (world?) championships of water skiing are held here.
