“Beautiful Park”
Reviewed February 6, 2012

This park is huge, clean and has so much to offer. There are Segway tours, kayak and paddleboat rentals and tons of free things to do. Miles of trails, excercise circuits, playgrounds, sports fields. A great place to spend a day!

“HUGE park, BMX, ball field, canoeing, more READ ME and let me know if helpfulhelpful”
Reviewed January 18, 2012

This park is huge and VERY well kept.

Okeeheelee Park is located on Forest Hill Blvd, west of Jog Road. There is a golf course, numerous ball fields of different types, a BMX race track (complete with team), much water, canoe and other boat rentals, I have seen people waterskiing as they also have an annual water ski show, there is an excellent nature center which, in itself, is a reason to visit the park. They have a summer camp (that is a highly sought after, excellent camp!) and year-round activities and programs such as going into their deer enclosure, raptor talks (up close and personal with birds of prey), earth day events, dissecting owl pellets, dipnetting, and much more. You'd have to check for their schedule. Usually there is a suggested donation for each activity. They also have a small gift shop area.

There are many trails to walk, even guided through the nature center, will see possibly owls, eagles, bats, and more - depending on time of year, time of day/night. They have outstanding educational programs.

I use the park mainly for the nature center - which has an enormous lot of land. But the rest of the park, itself, is simply enormous. There are many jogging, rollerblading, bike trails throughout the park. It is very popular for those trying to keep active. There is even a fenced in Doggy park to bring your canine friend!

I have, literally, never been to another park in the area that is even close to as amazing as this park. Nothing else that I know of has all of these amenities, such an awesome nature center, is so well - kept, has so much to offer. It's a beautiful park and has much to offer.

Please let me know if this has been helpful.

Also, the nature center is set way back on the property - drive in and keep driving, it will eventually be a turn on your left. I have seen raccoons, deer, wild sandhill cranes, and more. Great walking trails back there with the shade of the trees. :-)
