Great traditional American diner. Not a corporate concept restaurant. Great service and breakfasts. I'm not a fan of grits but those with us said they where's great. Bacon, eggs and hash browns were all cooked just right. While they have a 3.99 breakfast special, my 3 eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast was 8.50.

“Three Words”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

Almond crusted French toast. Okay, it's four words, but WOW! My second time there after our original find last year when we were visiting and it was just as good this time. My husband got a plate that had corned beef hash and grits and they were both stellar. I had a bite of his grits and thought they had cheese in them, they were so rich, but he said "No, it's butter!"

And the cafe is so much fun! Outside before you even walk in you are entertained with a mannequin in the phone booth- it's Clark Kent ripping off his suit and revealing his Superman duds! Inside there are TVs - old B&W TVs that still work! And all sorts of memorabilia.

Definitely put this one on your list!!

“Wow Do They Know Grits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

What a fantastic place to go for breakfast. We had the best grits ever but their oatmeal was also a big hit the next morning. The breakfast is excellent and so is the coffee and juice and CHEAP!
Their special was $3.99. Come on! Really!

“Cute place, but over priced for the quality of food. Go to Howleys instead.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

Atmosphere was very cute, but small,
So we had to sit outside and couldn't enjoy the "diner" feel. The menu was kind of pricy for a diner, and I feel like they didn't have very good diner selection. The menu sounded more like an Italian restaurant than a traditional diner. They were also out of some of their menu items. The food came quickly but honestly just tasted bland. I usually don't complain, but I was kind of disappointed. I probably won't go back for dinner, but I might try breakfast. If you're looking for a really good diner, head just a little further south on Dixe, And head to Howleys. They have grea food for fair prices.
