“Rumble in the jungle”

Our plane was late so when we arrived the owner told us the door would be open and the keys would be inside. We went to the front door and it was locked. I called the owner and he instructed me to go to the right hand side of the home and there would be a gate (this is at about 10:30pm) which we had a difficult time finding (thank goodness for cell phone lighting). We followed a path overgrown with fauna and found an unlocked door and the keys were on the coffee table. We didn't realize that THIS was the place we rented, not the house. The cottage was old but very neat and clean and had all the amenities we needed. There is no maid service so the towels, etc. have to last you your whole stay. Ours ended up being 3 days because of hurricane Matthew we got out a day early. The pool was not clean but the the water was clear. Two days into our stay it was cleaned because the neighbor noticed it had not been done so he called the "pool person". The placed was said to have a hot tub and a heated pool. Neither were hot or warm. There were no instructions for how to get it to work but having owned a pool myself I was able to figure it out and the hot tub was great. We had a problem with not enough hot water for a shower and the owner immediately had his plumber come out and replace a cartridge in the faucet and it worked fine after that. The plumber also advised us the hot and cold water in the bathroom are reversed which would be a good thing to tell visitors before finding out the hard way :-). All in all we enjoyed our stay. As far as recommending it - it's average and if you're ok with that then I'd recommend it.

This rental is a charming little guest cottage in the Northwood section of West Palm Beach. It is a regentrified area that has stunning homes from the 1920's. The streets are closed off from US1, and have many speed bumps. As a result, it is quiet and feels very safe. Neighbors all talk to each other, and know each other. It is a true community. My husband and I biked everywhere, and traffic was never a problem. This neighborhood is off Flagler drive which is a gorgeous biking road on the water, with lots of beautiful boats. Doing the Palm Beach bike trail, going over the bridge to Palm Beach, was about a mile away. We walked to dinner often, as a couple of blocks away were great neighborhood restaurants, including Thai(excellent), Greek, Mexican, French, and more. The owner was great about us bringing our cat. There is a private little fenced in yard to sit out in as well. In fact we reserved a spot for next year!

“Beautiful tropical vacation rental”

The cottage is located behind the owner's home in beautiful historic Old Northwood, a quiet and residential neighborhood in West Palm Beach. It has a pool/jacuzzi with changing color lights and is surrounded by tropical plants, frogs, and lizards. There is an old mango tree on the property that hangs heavy with mangoes. We spent a wonderful week there in late May to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had a great stay. The cottage is clean and spacious with central AC and the vegetation surrounding it and the pool provide privacy. It's short driving distance to Clematis St. and City Place, the "downtown" areas of West Palm Beach and to areas like Peanut Island and Riviera for fishing and snorkeling, and paddleboard, jet ski, and kayak rentals. It's also reasonable driving distance to other areas like Lake Worth, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter, and Miami. The owner met us at the cottage when we arrived to give us the keys and show us the property and how to use the pool features.
Overall, it was a really lovely place to spend a week.

We were without a place to stay as our accommodations were cancelled on us. We had already booked a week sight unseen at this home so extended our stay. Elliott was very accommodating in regard to this. We loved the neighborhood, the apt itself had lots of character, we had a swimming pool, and our little Yorkies were right at home. Very affordable for the area and close to West Palm, the beaches, and lots of activities.
