“Small but Cute”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

This is a cute little hotel not too far from City Place. It is very colorful and the staff are very friendly. The room was VERY small, but we were only there for one night. I would stay here again if we were in West Palm Beach.

We needed a place to spend the night on our way back to Miami from a road trip and we ended up at Biba. What a surprise!!! Even though it was very late the receptionist was extremely accommodating trying to find us a room and helping us with brochures and info on where to have dinner and spend time the following day. The whole property is super interesting since you will never expect what you will find inside from the outside facade. Our room was small but newly remodeled and extremely cozy. Everything is kept clean and very neat, there is a complimentary internet access and a snack breakfast which we found very helpful to get you on the go. We will definitely come back if we stay in West Palm again.

A great little hotel which makes the best of what it has, so the gardens are well maintained and the pool is lovely, rooms are a nice size and in decent order. Yes it's not in the town centre but most people drive and its close to the main road routes. Service was good from check in to check out and the free breakfast was lovely. I'd take the character of this hotel above a dull Hyatt any day.

Boy, did i make a mistake by staying here. If all you want is a place to lay your head that is somewhat clean, a true NO FRILLS environment, a totally NASTY, UNPROFESSIONAL desk lady...then this is your place. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Stay at The Hyatt. Lovely, clean, things to do. You MUST have a car to stay here. This is NOT NY and the cabs can take upwards of 40 minutes to arrive and they are quite dear.

You have a chorus of swamp creatures to serenade you at night along with some of the guests who hoot and hollered well into the night till 3/4 pm.

I was unfortunately alone on this business trip with a fractured shoulder injury and had purchased a spinner bag. I thought that all the help i would need with the bag would be handled by staff once I arrived at the hotel. Torrential rains added to this lovely mix so that when I arrived, I was grateful for any help getting my one bag to my room. I asked for help with it (listen carefully now) and asked if there was ANY room which was close to the office as THEY HAD NO ONE TO HELP ME WITH THE BAG, WOULDN'T FIND ANYONE TO HELP ME WITH THE BAG AND THEN big mama (front desk lady) asked "Maybe you want to sleep in the lobby??".

This is not how you treat guests and I would have left immediately under almost under any other situation. The Hyatt of course was solidly booked and so...no where to go, torrential rains and needing a place to rest made me stay.

What a dump!!

Pros: Very lovely cleaning staff with smiles.

Stay in a REAL hotel unless you are a young college student who can't afford to.

Room Tip: Pick a different hotel. This is in a bad neighborhood and offers nothing. It was a total nightmare w...

One can still see the vestiges of time gone-by in this quaint little, boutique hotel. Our room and bathroom were both small, but they were adequate and clean. The owners have decorated the hotel in a chic style. It is well-located for West Palm Airport and we stayed one night. We enjoyed the self-serve breakfast and ate outdoors in the little garden.

Because of the many activities going on in the area, I got shut out of the hotel in which I intended to stay. Since every property had jacked their rates up, I took a chance on hotwire. This property is very close to the beautiful properties that line the beach, but just outside that neighborhood. It is surrounded by retail, and an older apartment-complex-gone-condo. The desk staff was outstanding, the landscaping was absolutely beautiful, with lush tropical vegetation including coconuts, ferns, and more. Parking was very limited, and the overflow in the back, through a somewhat rickety fence, appeared kind of sketchy. The room was old and simple, the bathroom fixtures were new and very nice. It was a bargain price, the room was adequate and quiet, so we were well pleased with the choice.

I spent three nights at Hotel Biba and found most everything of very high standard for the price with one or two minor caveats. On arrival and throughout the stay the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The single queen room I had was clean and well maintained and there were no stale smells like you get in some hotels located in humid climates. The room worked very well for one person, although I would have welcomed a bit more space to put things, like an additional table or nightstand. The bathroom room had a large shower stall and some of the rooms I understand have jacuzzi tubs. The breakfast, which is included, offered a good variety of things, but there were no eggs in any form. The rooms are quiet at night. Free parking is available. The only problem I encountered was with the door key card which was very finicky, requiring almost a magical touch to get it to work properly. This may just have been unique to my room. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and would definitely stay here again, hoping the weather would be better so I could actually use their lovely pool.
