We went to The Blind Monk this past weekend. Found a favorite Mauritson rockpile Zinfandel and paired with a large cheese and meat plate! Fantastic wine and pairing. Nice atmosphere. Mixed crowd at the bar and couches. Great bar made from acutal wine cases. The Monk has a easy going, yet classy vibe. Great friendly service. We thouroughly enjoyed our evening and will be back soon!

I went to the Blind Monk a couple weeks ago with my Wife and a friend. I really like the selection of wines by the glass and the European style of the bar. There was plenty of outdoor seating and a cozy indoor atmosphere. I think this place has a great vibe and it is a perfect place to meet for a first date. I've given it 4 out 5 stars and hope it stays open and continues to thrive. What I don't like about the Blind Monk are their prices for wine. Most bars and restaurants use a 200% mark-up for a bottle of wine, this is fair because a restaurant has to make a profit and has lots of cost associated with it such as servers etc. However I saw many bottles of wine with a 400%+ markup compare to what I could purchase it at Whole Foods, too much, example Dragon Rose which sells for $18 is over $100 at Blind Monk. I would only ever visit during Happy Hour which is 2 for 1 such a shame. Hope they put their bottled wine prices closer to industry standards. I'll give them a second chance in a couple weeks or months.

Hi Scott69. Thanks for coming in and taking the time to write a review. I think you may have misread the wine list. The Domaine de Dragon Rose is on our by the glass list for $10 not $100. We pride ourselves in providing the best value we can for the wine we serve. While bar and restaurant prices will be higher than retail prices, at The Blind Monk we are also providing service, ambiance, and convenience. And smaller places like us are not able to buy in bulk, so are costs are going to be higher as well. I hope to see you in again soon. Ben

Small place, quaint and off the beaten path. Small plates, good prices. Love the old time movies they show on the back wall, no sound, but they are those movies where you probably already know most of the dialogue anyway.
