What a fantastic place. A few days later we are still talking about it. Kara was an amazing tour guide. We will be back once the youngest kid is old enough to visit!

My family and I had a wonderful experience at your McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary. Alexis did a fantastic job of explaining how the animals are taken care of, their individual personalities, and how they interact with each other. Our tour guide was funny and extremely knowledgeable of the animals. We also marveled at how comfortable she was with the big cats and visa versa, even though she’s only been employed at MWS for about a year.
Thank you to Alexis and the rest of the staff for doing what you do, day in and day out. We appreciate it as humans and I’m sure the animals are feeling blessed to be spoiled by all of you hard workers.

Grandparents, parents, and three kids aged 7-9 agreed that this is a superlative experience. And highly educational. A wide variety of wildlife kept in spacious and very clean enclosures. Most of the animals are “rescue animals” living out their retirement here, and some are being rehabilitated for return to the wild. Large cats, small primates, birds, tortoises, reptiles including a large snake collection, and others. Format is guided small group tours with knowledgeable guides, about 2 hrs long. This is a big private undertaking, and entrance fees support it. We’ll revisit McCarthy’s on our future trips to South Florida.

At McCarthys Wildlife Preserve, there was a ton on cute, tough and exotic animals, such as monkeys, lions, tigers, birds, and so much more! The tour guide was amazing, he did a great job explaining the animals past, habitat, how long they have been at the preserve, and more! The animals had amazing stories from their past. We even got to pet and hold some of the animals there! Yes, it was hot, but they had spots around the preserve to buy water bottles so you stay hydrated! The bond that the tour guide had with the animals would fascinate you beyond belief! Before your tour, you might have to wait a little bit, but that’s ok! There were turtles and fish in the waiting area, you could feed them and watch them as they maintain there lives in this pond. This is why I think you should visit McCarthys wildlife preserve.
