Howard who heads up the tennis could not have been better. Everything you need or want is here. The rooms are so great after a busy day. I have to get one of those pillows! They were the best I've ever slept on in my life n

I thoroughly enjoyed attending the adult tennis camp at Saddlebrook. Our instructor was great. The ratio of instructor to group size was small. The accommodations were excellent. Mind you I have nothing to compare the resort to as this was my fisrt visit to any tennis camp. The scenery was very nice. Lunches were good. Wine was great but expensive. The scallop linguine at Dempseys Steak house was to die for. Never got to try the lobster mac n' cheese but plan to return. I went to Saddlebrook for tennis instruction and that is what I got. Five hours of tennis instruction per day and relaxing in the evening and the tennis channel was on 24 hours. Tennis all the time. Who could ask for anything more?

Room Tip: I was in the 400 section and it was extremely quiet and near the courts. Beautiful scenery. A news...

I was at the resort for a work trade show event for 4 days this month. I arrived at 11:30 a.m. and was told my room wouldn't be ready for a few hours because there was a wedding there and they were still cleaning rooms. At 4:30 still no rooms for 30 people. I left a meeting at 5:30 to see if my room was ready, which it finally was. Others didn't get in their room until 7 p.m. and the hotel made NO concessions to anyone. Funny thing, as I was checking out Thursday at 11:30 housekeeping was waiting outside my room to get in and clean it. Food service was also slow at all meals, many times the buffet at breakfast and lunch would have empty plates and it would take them awhile to re-stock. Find another place to stay, this place is under staffed and the staff there doesn't seem to care.

This is a really fun place that offers great rooms, a lot to do and good food. The rooms are a little old but classic Florida condos. The service is really what is lacking here. The resort was at low capacity and we waited over 4 hours - past published check in time for our room and the lobby was full of people waiting for rooms. The front desk staff needed training- they were unsure what to do -hate to see how it would go during peak season!
Would go back again but not until I see reviewed service has improved.

Those people reviewing this resort with positive comments must have never been anywhere else. This place is a disaster. From the moment we arrived until we left (6 days later) we were miserable. The resort is extremely old, over 20 yrs and never been upgraded. The room have walls that are thin as paper. You can hear people breathing in the next room. Every step above you is heard. If people in the next room turn on their bathroom fan, you can hear it. Most of the staff are young college students and do not know the hospitality business so they are clueless in how to treat guests with respect. The resort is located in an area that has no restaurants so unless you want to drive half an hour into Tampa you are stuck eating at the resort restaurants. They NEVER change the menu. Same old boring meals over and over. We sent out a few pieces of clothing to laundry and the next day they said they had no record of it being picked up from our room or going out to laundry. They lost our clothes, at least for a day. Finally found it but it took a day. The older/experienced staff at Tropics restaurant (ladies) are excellent and staff at Dempseys Steak house are good as well but bartender and younger staff at Dempseys too are a joke. Young hostess at Dempseys too is a goof ! The tennis camp is excellent but the golf course was in terrible shape. We played golf one day (Golf is not cheap there) and it took 30 minutes to play one hole. We waited 15 minutes to tee off at the second tee. The 2 girls ahead of us sat at the 2nd tee for 10 minutes before they could tee off. They stacked the course with so many golfers that were extremely slow and didn't monitor the times. We couldn't finish 18 holes even after 4 1/2 hours. When asked why we weren't told of the slow play, the young staff in the pro shop said... "there is a group of young kids (30 of them) that are playing and their coaches are playing with them so they are walking and taking their time". No ranger to monitor times. No beverage cart passed the entire 15 holes we played. The last night of stay we had to get up early 4:45am so we went to bed at 10pm. At 1am the 4 young students staying in the next room came in totally wasted/drunk and screaming, singing and playing loud music. We were unable to sleep so at 3:30am we called the front dest and they sent security but to no avail. The loud singing, screaming and music continued. Everyone in the entire building could hear them. At 4am someone from another room called to report the noise. Security came again but as soon as security left the loudness started back up. They passed out at 4:15am but since we had to get up at 4:45am we didn't get any sleep. If you want to waste your money and have a terrible vacation.... go here otherwise find another resort and read the REAL reviews.

Room Tip: All the rooms are extremely old and have wall made of paper. If you want to sleep bring earplugs be...

The family spent a weekend in Cluster 2 of the Saddlebrook resort in one of the one-bedroom suites. The suite was large with a full kitchen, dining bar, dining table, couch, easy chair and ottoman. The big screen TV was in great working order. The room had access to a patio with two chairs and a table. It had a partial view of one of the resort's pools.

The bedroom had two queen beds and plenty of drawer space. Lots of pillows too! The sheets were soft and fresh. There was an in-room safe. The bathroom had marble floors, and wonderful shampoos, etc.. The towels were large and absorbant.

We needed both the air conditioner and heater that weekend. Both worked well. The room was all in all very nice. . . . BUT . . . . you couldn't help but think it was last decorated in the 1980s. Nothing was old. It was just old looking.

Check-in was smooth. The valet parking charge is $15.00 / night. A bellman drove us, in a golf cart, to our room. He got us ice and assured us if we needed a ride anywhere on property, it was complimentary. We rarely used the service, as our room was right in the middle of things.

There were two good sized pools near our room, including one that was heated. Large towels were available at the pool shack, along with a variety of board games. The two hot tubs were GREAT! The pool bartender, Lorena, made an excellent pina colada and was very friendly.

Truthfully, everyone at the resort was friendly. Especially Lorena and Jackie C., a server in the Tropix restaurant.

The gym was small with older machines, but all were in good working order. Towels and water provided at the front desk.

The two restaurants we ate at, Tropix and Dempseys Steakhouse were both nice. The food quality in Tropix was very good, not GREAT. Breakfast is served only buffet style. $9.95 for continental. $17.95 for full American. The resort adds an automatic 18% gratuity to all checks.

Dempseys has an awesome salad/antipasto bar and incredible parker house rolls. The filet mignons were large and delicious. The prices were high. . . although not much more than you'd expect at a resort.

It was a weonderful weekend. We will probably visit again. My only concern is the rooms are in need of a makeover.

Room Tip: Ask for Cluster two rooms. They are right in the middle of everything!

Had a great day out at the resort. I'm relatively local to Tampa and a buddy and I went down to play some golf before a Tampa Lightning game. It was a pleasant surprise. The golf course was a nice layout, a bit dry, but the greens were in great shape. Other than golf, there seemed to be a ton to do on the resort. Noticed both hard and clay court tennis, a great pool deck, spa just to name a few. It was about 1:15-1:30 hours from Disney and would present an less hectic option to your visit to Central Florida if you didn't mind the drive.
