Awesome mermaid show. They do have a boat ride but did not ride it this time. Beautiful peacocks roam the area. The water is crystal clear. Buccaneer bay gets crowded during the summer months so get there early. Chairs are provided. A separate pool area for toddlers. Many times one or two of the slide rides are closed down. A snack bar and several gift shops are available. You can rent tubes to float down the river or bring your own. A special area is reserved for snorkelers. Water is around 72 degrees.

“Where else can you see a live mermaid?”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

One of my cousins had the privilege to be among the earliest mermaid performers at Weeki Wachee. She has told us stories about the history which included at one time many celebrities, including Elvis Presley. Weeki Wachee you see at one time was one of the main tourist attractions in Florida. They continue to this day to have shows with mermaids, and the scenery ain't bad as well. If you love Florida culture, the real non-Disneyfied Florida culture then this place is for you.

“Weeki Wachee , fl home of the Mermaids”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Since the state took over the park into the State Park system, much has improved! We went recently and were impressed with everything. In addition to the live Mermaid performance they have a Florida animal show , nature walk, cafe, and boat ride on the Weeki Wachee River. Oh, and in summer months there is a water park.

“Great fun for kids”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Mermaid shows kids love. The have a nice slow boat cruise and animal show. Restrooms are clean and air conditioned. Shady playground and after you do that side of the park, you can go and take a dip in the cool springs. The water stays 71-74 all year. A deal at $13 (8 for kids). This park is located only 30 minutes or so from a place that you can swim with manatees. We did both in 2 days and had a blast with our 6 year old granddaughter!

“A Throw Back that's WONDERFUL”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

This was the best value for family fun in Florida. For a family of 6 (2 small children) the total cost was only $60. Included in that admission are: a small waterpark, a boat ride through the beaufiul weeke wachee springs water, a mermaid show (corny but cute) an animal show, and more. They also have a swimming beach (with lifeguards), year 'round 74 degree water that is 98% pure. The highlight for us what upclose viewing of a few manatees swimming. Our daughter and grandson went down the waterslide and the manatees were right next to them in the water. We then got very close photos of them and enjoyed watching them feeding. That was a special and rare treat, for sure. The staff was friendly and you can take photos with the mermaids after the show. We love that they are maintaining this wonderful piece of Florida history, as the mermaid show has been running for more than 60 years. If you want Disney, this isn't it, but if you want inexpensive family fun, this is the place to go.
