This place is a great place to see and experience authentic Florida. It was a wonderful trip back in time. It you to be entertained then this isn't for you. That isn't to say that there is nothing to do, you just have to want to do something besides watching TV, playing video games or messing with your cell phone

We watched manatees play, listened to nature, watched football with other guests and talked to people. The food was just ok. There is the spring but it was a bit too cold to swim.

This was my third overnite stay and I will go back.

The faculty needs a bit of deep cleaning and sprucing but the bed was comfortable and the staff accommodating.

3 generations of my family truly enjoyed this resort. Super nice staff and great atmosphere. Make sure to watch the movie in the lobby. We enjoyed eating in the dining room. Excellent food and service.(wish they had different chairs-they seem out of place)but that is being picky. The boat trip was fantastic- never thought we would see so much and the guide was extremely knowledgeable. Checkers in the lobby was a hit with everyone. I would love to visit again. It would be nice to have longer hours in the snack bar and rental area.

Room Tip: The ones on the back facing the springs are ideal.

Wonderful old hotel with lots of charm. Old time Florida. Had three meals in restaurant and service was terrible!! Took two hours just for breakfast! Two hours for lunch and order messed up! They were having am employee wedding at hotel so all workers must have been fourth string. Employees wedding party turned into a brawl with all kinds of fighting . No Sleep and no one seemed to do anything about it. Had to ask for towels each day..rooms still not cleaned at 3:00. upon check out, our charges were not correct at all. We had three different rooms under one charge and it was all messed up. Despite all this, I would stay again but not pay if service was as bad.

particularly for our guests from overseas, this is a connection with nature that is hard to find in other places. man can build nice buildings but nature is better than anything man can do, in short doses of course.
