I had not been here for eight months. The meal and wine were excellent. I started with the crabby oysters appetizer-oysters sprinkled with crabmeat and covered in a berre blanc sauce. So good. My companion had the mussels in white wine sauce. The sauce was delicious, the kind that makes you ask for extra bread to dip and it was a healthy serving of mussels. We both had a dinner-sized Caesar salad which was very good. For my entree I had the onion crusted grouper with fried grits and black eyed peas. The grouper was fresh and perfectly cooked. The fried grits were well done and a nice change from potatoes or rice. The black eye peas were so so. My companion's entree was a shrimp and crab Alfredo. It was a huge portion and delicious with a rich sauce and full of shrimp and crab.
We ate at the bar and Deborah was our server. She poured excellent wines based on what we asked for, summery white wine and a big red.
Overall a great meal. On our way to the restaurant we passed a Bonefish Grillwhere people were waiting to get in. French Quarter had a fairly good crowd for a mid summer Wednesday but I had to wonder why French Quarter didn't have more diners. I'll be going more often.
