My husband and I chose to spend our 37th anniversary at the Amalfi Grille and from the moment we stepped in until the moment we stepped out, we felt comfortable and like family. The owner immediately greeted us as we entered the restaurant and we were shown to a table where we could see the entire restaurant and operations. The server was a young gal who aimed to please and was there any time we needed anything!
We decided to start off with the pasta fazole, an all time favorite to compare it to our favorite at another restaurant. No restaurant has ever surpassed the flavor of our favorite from throught the world, but guess what...this one did! The broth was a lighter pinkish broth vs a red broth and we could detect the flavor of proscuitto in the pasta fazole. Although we had already ordered our entrees, we could have made a meal on this soup along with the warm bread and wonderfully delightful buttermilk topping for the home made bread.
Our entrees consisted of the hogfish snapper in a lemony picatta sauce served atop sauteed spinach and a grouper with the best tasting roasted tomatoes on the planet, also served atop the spinach. Both entrees had more than enough food and in fact, my husband willingly ate the other half of my grouper :)
We ended our meal delightful meal with a chocolate mousse cake with the lightest and fluffiest melt in your mouth chocolate flavor! Superb!
Along the way, our server and the owner stopped by to see if everything was perfect - and it was! Shall we go back? Of course we will! And our answer is...why haven't we visited Almalfi sooner! This was the best Italian we have ever tasted!
