at these elevated prices, it's reasonable to expect consistently good food. but this restaurant doesn't do it. the mixed green salad which accompanied the main course was obviously prepared well in advance and just taken from the fridge. in addition, the greens were wilted. the risotto which paired with the veal chop was insipid but the 16 0z ($42) chop was delicious and perfectly cooked as were fresh and tasty asparagus. the wife's zuppa di pesce was huge, so per lb the $32 price was not exorbitant but the linguini sauce was b-o-r-i-n-g and some of the shellfish tasted of chemicals. table service was fine but we received an indifferent 'greeting' at the door. one gets the impression that this place could be so much better if managment cared a little more about doing everything right.
