7 of us had dinner Saturday night at Cassariano's prior to going to a show at the Venice theater. We chose this restaurant because we could make reservations and it is a short walk to the theater. It has a modern and inviting atmosphere. Warm rolls were served with an artichoke spread. The pasta dishes we had included the ravioli stuffed with eggplant and the pasta bolognese and they were excellent, as was the chicken scaloppine with the Gorgonzola sauce. The creme brûlée and the chocolate mousse were memorable, whereas the lemon tort was not as lemony as it could have been. TIPS: consider sharing one of the salads which were good but not exceptional to make sure you leave room for dessert. If you show your tickets for the Venice theater you get two desserts for the price of one which is a great deal.
