We were hoping for a fun evening on our first visit to Cabaret of Magic. We left with sore cheeks from laughing and being astonished at some of the illusions! The performance far surpassed what we expected and we highly recommend it to everyone....young and old alike. It engaged everyone to be part of the show. Glen performed amazing illusions, had a great sense of humor, and gave a truly professional show. It's wonderful to have something new and different to take visitors and friends - right here in Venice.

When we went out to dinner after, we realized when we finished eating at 10:30, that downtown Venice was hopping! We had enjoyed a wonderful show followed by a great dinner at Taste of Italy - and we didn't need to have a long drive home.

Put it on your list of must do's!

The performance is held in the magic store. No stage or anything. The person that was to perform wasn't there and
they had a substitute who was basically a mentalist rather than a magician and he wasn't very good. The final blow was when I
decided I would buy a deck of cards to learn some tricks. They
didn't even have a deck of the ones they recommended! Sorry
but don't bother.

The addition of a magic shop and cabaret theater on Miami Avenue is a fun addition to the entertainment options in Venice. Glenn Gary offers a 1 and 1/2 hour show of parlor magic tricks involving cards, birds, rings, balls, money, etc. The small theater offers an up close view of the slight of hand tricks, but even at close range it looks like magic. Glenn Gary invites audience participation which adds to the fun of the evening. Some of the tricks take a while to set up so the show might be less interesting to young children. The price of $32 a ticket with tax is a bit steep but our group felt the show was worth it. TIPS: Volunteer to participate in the tricks as that will enhance the experience. Consider going with friends as it was fun to try to figure out the tricks together after the show.

It was an entertaining evening of parlor magic. Glenn Gary had some amazing tricks with an empty box of cards, metal rings, and correctly guessing the exact card people in the audience chose from a deck of cards. However, some of the tricks were too long and drawn out. A few children in the audience were restless. It was a Saturday evening and I believe children were not allowed. The price of $32 plus tax was a bit pricey (and that was for the "cheap seats"). There were four rows of chairs set up and as they were not on an incline it was difficult to see at times from my third row seat.

The magic of magic is the illusion that it is real. The whole experience was wonderful. It is an intimate setting with lots of audience participation and humor. The audience included everyone from 6 years of age to senior citizens. I love that Mr. Gary involved all of the children at some point during the show. My husband sat on the edge of his seat during the whole performance. We will return to see him and other magicians perform there!
