We came in for a late afternoon snack and drink. We were greeted by a very nice host and seated. She told us our sever name and her helper. First of all I do not understad the server helper?? Make your sections smaller and realize what your servers can handle and DO NOT OVER SEAT THEM!!
So now we knew we basically had 2 people waiting on us, but it was 5 minutes before we even got a fly by to say she would be right with us. We continued to wait and finally our drink order was taken. Bartender could not be found so our drinks took about 7 minutes. When she delivered our drinks, she said she would be right back to take the order. Well that was a stretch to say the least.
We did see a what we thought was a manager with a head set on. He did not stop or visit a single table, but was sure talking and laughing with someone on the headset or talking to himself. Finally our order was taken. We ordered 2 bowls of soup and the build your appetizer. We asked for our soups first and they did come first after we asked where they were. It took 20 minutes to get the soup. Our drinks and waters were empty and never refilled. We were about half done with the soup and the server came over and asked if we were ready for her to ring the apetizer in. We told her yes, but we knew we were in for trouble. It actually arrived quick, was fresh and hot.
We then never saw the server again. We needed more sauce so I went to the bartender. She apologized and got it for us and refilled our water. Our server returned 16 minutes later and said that famous negative question "you Don't want dessert right"? We just said give us the check. it was obvious that this young lady had some kind of issue. We are still wondering whom her helper was. If it was the bartender well...........then why did we have to get up and ask for extra sauce? Where is the manager during the late afternoon. Guest can get bad service during a peek time just due to volume. This place needs to realize that restaurants lose more guest during this time because everyone gets so lacks including the managers.
Would recommend passing this Chili's and driving to Sarasota or Port Charlotte. It will be worth the few extra miles.
