First and foremost the service was terrible. Took over 10 minutes to be greeted. The server Kayla never returned like promised. After waiting for over 15 minutes to order we were over the experience when she returned. The happy hour special wasn't too bad and the flavor not bad for the price.

We are year round locals and had been to both the other Daiquiri Decks (St. Armand's and Siesta Key) before. Both were very good each time we were there. We happened to be in Venice and decided to try that one for an early dinner. We will probably not be returning. Neither the service nor the food was good even though it is off season, there were not a lot of customers while we were there and there was plenty of staff. We started off with a pitcher of white sangria. It's appearance was very nice with assorted citrus fruits at the bottom but lacked flavor. Apparently it was made very recently. We had the Seafood Medley as a shared appetizer ( 3 shrimp, 6 clams casino, 6 steamed mussels, a king crab leg, 3 raw oysters and 3 steamed shrimp served with a shot glass of melted butter and one of cocktail sauce for $19). The problen began there. The waitress brought little tiny plates for each of us to serve ourselves off the main platter, one extra napkin each (the silverware came wrapped in one thin one), no seafood forks, no hand wipes and no dish for the shells. We thought she would serve the food and bring those things with it. But the kitchen staff brought the food, disappeared after serving it and the waitress did not come back until we had already almost finished. She was no where to be seen to ask her for anything. The steamed King Crab leg was done just right but with no seasoning and the clams casino were really just topped with some seasoned bread crumbs. The oysters were mushy. The shrimp were very large and tasty as were the steamed mussels in a tasty broth. It was a good value but the food was mediocre at best. The main course arrived via kitchen staff while we were still eating the appetizer. No one came back to get any of the dishes until we got the check (which we finally had to ask for) so the table was quite crowded even though it was one for four and we were only two. I ordered the steamed clams in a white wine/garlic broth with ciapatta bread. My husband had a salad with salmon. Although the salad was fresh as well as the salmon, it was nothing special. The clams were another issue. They were about the worst I've ever eaten out. They had absolutely no flavor at all as the broth was more like water without seasoning. Certainly nothing to dip the bread into. Our waitress ended up tending the bar near the end of our meal. There were plenty of Daiquiri Deck "Angels" (waitresses' nomenclature) standing around doing nothing by the front door but no one came over to us to see if we needed anything. We wanted glasses of water and bread for the salad but we never were able to get that because of the horrible service. The clincher was that the check requested either an 18%, 20% or 22% tip. We always tip well and did so this time but this place left a very bad impression on us. It was very attractively decorated but that, in itself does not make a great dining experience.

Daiquiri Deck Venice gets better every time we go. My husband had the Snapper Wrap which he said was delicious.
I had Lobster
Fondue with grilled Ciabatta bread. Considering that it was loaded with lobster, 2 full claws, a tail and more, the value was great at just under $14. It was August but the overhang and cooling fans made it very comfortable outside. The waitress and staff were so friendly and the food was served quickly.

While on vacation, a plane flew along the beach towing a banner for Daiquiri Deck so we thought we would check it out. Impressive menu but opted for the half pound burger and fries. Great tasting burger cooked to perfection. Friendly and fast service. They have a line of frozen drink machines along the wall that looked great although we didnt try them. Will go back again next time around.

We were visiting for the Fox Lea horse show. This is more of a bar type place with a wall of slushie machines inside. The food is average, BUT they are pet friendly, they let us bring our lab to the outdoor tables. An acoustic guitar player was signing classic rock tunes, which is piped through the entire restaurant. Parking in the area is free, and there's ice cream shops across the street. Nothing here will blow you away, but they do have a veggie wrap, veggie pizza, and sweet potato fries for those looking to eat healthy.
