“the place to go at sunset”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

It's not Mallory Square, Key West, but it's the place to go at sunset when you're in Venice. Also, my dad had good luck fishing and no license required on the pier. Sharky's, nearby, is good for lunch, a beverage, etc.

“Surreal 'walk' after dinner:”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

dinner @ Sharky's then a most surreal walk onto this pier ~ fishing, birds, sunset, waves, beachgoers, all present a 'walk' of interest to all the senses.

“Fishing is okay...Catching is something else”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

You have to be a fair angler to be productive here. Pier is high off the water making landing a larger fish difficult. You will find a dedicated crew of regulars who do catch fish. You will also find a whole bunch of toursits who tend to get in the way!

“See a porpoise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

It's a free, relaxed experience, high above the water. In September, we saw several porpoises; in January, it was just cormorants and pelicans diving, but there's always something to see. We don't fish, but there are plenty of people who do--successfully.
